Me and my partner went for valentines day and it was perfect the instructor was extremely friendly and as we left our phones I. The car took pictures of us with his phone and then sent them to us when we got back. We where introduced to out horses and then where shown the basics, he even gave us bref history of the area and recommended sone places to see.

Thank Sinead L

Myself and my 2 kids (14 and 11) went for a 90 minute ride at the Cleggan Riding Centre during a brief visit to the area. Helmets and boots are provided when you get there. 3 horses were selected for our use and we were shown the basics before we headed off for the beach. Even though we were total beginners, the 2 girls who accompanied us were confident that we could handle our steeds. We even managed a few trots on our way to the beach through some narrow lanes. One incident to report - there were some loose horses when we got down to the beach who had to be corralled as they were antagonizing our horses. And unfortunately, I got a bit too brave in trying to get my horse to trot along the beach - he hit a soft spot on the sand and I went flying! Luckily, I hit the ground rump-first and I wasn't badly hurt, just a bit shaken. I got back in the saddle straight away, offering assurances to out instructors that I was fine. Overall, we really enjoyed our ride (although my son got the heeby jeebies and didn't make the ride back from the beach) and would recommend a horse ride as a good way of enjoying the local countryside.
