Spent a night here within the past fortnight. We were a party of 6 and without exception all agreed that both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. 5 of the 6 chose fish/seafood dishes for dinner and they were all exceptional. Beautiful views across the water from the dining room. Rooms lovely and comfy. Walks on grounds have spectacular scenery. Salmon jumping in river and lake. Will be back for sure.

This place is unreal. Private grounds with loads of places/gardens to walk about. The rooms were super clean and the hotel has a real old Irish castle feel to it. The bar is in the hotel and is great for a night of music (sessions) with fiddles and all. Guinness here is fantastic.

There is fishing galore here and you can rent tackle, rods etc.

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend and really chilled out and relaxed.

For being in an old castle in the middle of the forest in Ireland, I was expecting something a little more cold and dingy, but I was blown out of the water by the quality and elegance of this hotel in every aspect. The rooms are beautiful, incredibly comfortable, and spacious and the service was great from the front desk to the restaurants to the bike rentals. The front desk staff were very helpful with directions to different cities and other restaurants (their restaurants are a bit involved/fancy and may not be to your liking if you have kids or if you're in to more simple food). I would definitely recommend renting their bikes. It's a kind of challenging ride but a beautiful one. So glad we got to stop and stay here in the beautiful town of Ballynahinch!

We had dinner in the main dining room of this beautiful hotel. The grounds and castle are stunning. The food was great. All in our group agreed it was he best meal we had in Ireland. The staff are well trained and smooth. Would love to return some day.

Had a fabulous stay here to celebrate our engagement. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Had dinner in the bar and the beef mignon was amazing.

The view over the river was fantastic and being able to sit on the lawn and watch the salmon jumping was brilliant.

Couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough.

We have just returned from out stay at Ballynahinch Castle (Ranji's Rock suite). The room and the view from the room was just wonderful. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was just lovely - it is a special place. Staff are very friendly, especially Jane who checked us in, who was so helpful - nothing was a problem!
The walks around the castle are beautiful, plenty to choose from. Fishing must be amazing here as we could see the salmon jumping in the river from our rooms patio.
Food in the bar is excellent, really good selection for lunch and dinner. The cooked Breakfast was a little disappointing. Ireland is famous for its black & white pudding, quality sausages and tasty bacon...unfortunately, none of which products are used here. Cereals, fruit etc. are all lovely.
Really looking forward to our return trip next year as overall, our stay was just wonderful!

Room Tip: Book a suite - it's worth it!
