This hotel is in a league of its own. Whilst it's not the most modern, nor is the standard of accommodation fantastic, none of that matters. The setting is beautiful, the staff cannot do enough for you, the relaxed atmosphere is great, breakfast was bustling which made us feel really comfortable as we had a busy little boy with us & we didn't feel embarrassed when he was being a little boy, playing and messing around. We booked a babysitter and had dinner in the hotel. It was gorgeous. Restaurant was packed & it's no wonder. You may think that one doesn't have much choice when you're out in Renvyle but being honest, when the food is that good, why would you want to leave. After dinner, we sat by the fire having a relaxing drink. If was heaven! Each morning, our little boy fed the ducks outside. It was just beautiful. I will definitely return to Renvyle. Loved it!!!

My husband and I were on a cycling tour of the west coast area of Ireland - Aran Islands, Connemara coast. Renvyle House Hotel was one of lunch stops. Even with a group of 18 the staff handled lunch very well. We had sandwiches and the most delicious fish chowder. Great lunch.

This is a hotel that we have visited before, particularly for the new year. It's very family friendly, great food, and in a way quite olde world. It's not a modernly built hotel, but all that you need is there. It's very well managed and maintained and a very friendly staff.

Room Tip: If you want to see Connemara or the West of Ireland, and you like comfort, relaxation and good food...

I have been coming here for several years and, no doubt will keep on doing so. I just like everything about the place. It does what it does elegantly and with a genuine Irish grace. The restaurant is top class in its style. I really shouldn't publicise the area as I never want it to change, it is timeless and thus somehow sacred, out of ordinary space and time.

Staying in 40 C degree heat in room 68. The radiator knob is broken and 2 requests to fix the problem, at 5pm when I arrived, and 7 pm when I went to dinner, have only resulted in my having to open the window to the Atlantic breeze. At least that help clear the stale cigarette smell. It's 0.18 am and I've just rung the hotel on my mobile asking them to fix it again. There was no reply when I rang on the internal phone. All I need is a flat head screwdriver to remove the faulty cap, and a pliers, and I can fix the problem myself.

I organised an overnight stay for a group of 30 on 7th December. What a fabulous experience.we had.We loved the turf fires and the ambiance..This is an amazing hotel .All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the music in the bar and the disco was excellent .The DJ was so pleasant and made sure we enjoyed the night .Many of our party took the opppurtunity to play the beautiful par 3 golf course with stunning views of lake, sea and mountains. Many others went for leisurely strolls on the beautifully laid out walks.
When making our reservation Sabina was ever so accomodating and went out of her way to fulfill all our needs. We had a very enjoyable stay and we will certainly return,

Stunning setting with sea views from most rooms. The perfect place to unwind. Breakfast was excellant with a good choice other than the usual fry. We visited the hotel as part of a wedding party, the food at the reception was fabulous, only sorry we didn't get the chance to sample the restaurant. We will be back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Renvyle House is a four star, historic country house, family owned and family run. It first opened as a hotel in 1883 and is spectacularly located on a 150 acre estate on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way (midway point of the longest car touring route in the world!). Renvyle House is known for it’s “air of otherwordliness” which we believe is a strong and unique selling point and something of which we are very proud. Our emphasis is on customer service “friendly combined with professional” and we believe this plays a large part in why Renvyle enjoys over 55% repeat business. The hotel resort grounds include a private lake, a par 3 golf course, a beach, woodlands, gardens and numerous activities on site including tennis, croquet, outdoor heated swimming pool & Canadia Hot Tub which overlokks the Atlantic (summer months), fly-fishing, canoeing and more. Renvyle House is also well known for it’s good food and this is as much due to the locally sourced fresh produce (lamb, fish, vegetables and herbs from our own garden) as to Tim O’Sullivan’s expertise in the kitchen (Tim is our award winning Executive Chef). Renvyle House always has a warm welcome guaranteed for every guest. ... more   less
