We stayed here recently and really enjoyed it. The garden was gorgeous and enclosed which was great for my son and the dog. The house is within comfortable walking distance to the village and has everything that you would need. Thank you Ronan.

“Wonderful home for family visit”

Our family of 7 spent a week in Ronan's cottage in June. It was a great place for us. The three couples had their own bedroom and bath and the baby had her own room! The living room, kitchen, and large garden were lovely places to hang out in. We had wanted a place we could walk to town from and this cottage was about a 15 minute walk. Ronan was immediately responsive to any of our needs including finding a crib and high chair for our grand daughter in advance of our arrival. The place is charming and definitely has a whimsical and artsy feel to it!

Kinvara is a wonderful town with lots of places to hear good music and being on the Wild Atlantic Way (near Galway, etc.) was great.

We also took advantage of the on-site washer and dryer (though manly used the outdoors to dry stuff) which with a baby was incredibly helpful.

As other reviewers have said, the Chateaux is a work in progress! Some projects around the cottage aren't quite completed so if you want a place that's all polished this might not be the place for you.

We cooked most of our meals there and needed a few more kitchen items than Ronan originally had (and it would have been nice to have some basic spices like salt and pepper) - but again, he was very responsive when we asked for things.

“Just how I pictured Ireland!”

I stayed here with two friends on a girls' trip to Ireland. We got in later and it was raining, but Ronan had a fire going in the fireplace and bread baking for us in the oven.

Ronan introduced us to the older gentleman he takes care of in a room next to the main house. Shamus was a sweetheart. Later, Ronan got out some wine and his friend stopped by with his ukulele and we all sat in the living room talking, drinking wine, and listening to the ukulele. It was just how I had pictured hanging out with the locals in Ireland.

In the morning we got a tour of the grounds and a warm send off from Ronan.

The house itself was lovely and had plenty of space. The only thing I didn't like was the shower, which was probably the worst one in Ireland. It is very likely that this has been updated since my visit because he was doing some renovations while we were there.

“Eclectic, spacious, well positioned and with a gracious host.”

The photos tell you that you are in for something quite different, and so it was. Our host is an artist who loves turning his hand to all manner of renovation projects. He has extended the original house and built extensively on the property, including gardens and fish pond. While 'finishing things off' could not be applied, it was more than made up for by the warm welcome we received and the fact that with extended family, we all had our own bathrooms and plenty of living space without feeling we were on top of each other. I loved all the art works and artistic touches around the home. An unexpected bonus, was that literally just down the road is Dunguaire Castle. We attended a lovely 4 course banquet with entertainment - a real highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed visiting the little fishing village of Kinvara also just down the road. Chateau de Ronan is well positioned for exploring the rugged Atlantic Way. Very good value for money as it can accommodate so many. If you don't mind trading luxury for location, space and a warm welcome, then you would really enjoy a stay here.

We are a family with 3 kids, all loved the house. Great owner, always helpful. Kids loved the garden and couldn't wait to get back to it each day. The house (and owner!) has great character. Great location for both Galway and Clare.

This place is like a fantastic Roadmovie came true. The host is a very polite and warm and truly wonderful Person. The amazing Casa is just right at the feet of the unbelievabel and famous BURREN and the little Village Kinvarra is the Insider tip right at The seaside with lots of little Cafés, Pubs and Gallerys and Shoppingplaces. There is always something going on and everybody is incredibly friendly.
From this little getaway you have an easy Drive to almost every Big Point of interest, so make sure to stay a few more nights.
The House and The garden are Art itsself. The cosy fireplaces, the flowers, The friendly neigbours...,You feel right at home and Thomas is an amazing Artist, just The right Kind of eccentric. We had so much Fun together, and he would always be helpful in any Way.
In The evening we would make Pizzas outside and Play The Guitar an sing together.
There a lots of possibities to Take a hike and enjoy The true ireland.
I wish i Could have Stayed for ever. I will definitly Come back Soon. Thank you Thomas, for One of The best experiences in my life!!!!
