Very interesting themed exhibitions. Now we know who Gordon Bennett was, and the origin of "Racing Green".

There's a lot packed into a small space here and it's well worth a visit. The displays cover topics as varied as Ernest Shackleton (born nearby), motor racing, Irish soldiers in WWI, canals, the Anglo-Norman Conquest and religious diversity. There are some great artefacts and displays, complemented by an informative audio guide and some short introductory videos. The curator was well-informed, friendly and helpful.
You can use the internet here too, which is handy if you're travelling without a computer, and pick up a bus timetable too.

We took a trip to Athy from Dublin and popped into the museum. The exhibitions were excellent and were enhanced by the audio guides available. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
