“Should be your number one choice for you wedding!”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

Picture the scene, you are newly engaged and walking on air! Then the planning starts, you visit hotel after hotel where a napkin costs €2, each candle costs €3 and your guests have to pay €10 for parking! Then, out of all the madness, you find The Clanard Court Hotel. The pictures look good and the packages seem very reasonable so you go for a visit.

As soon as we pulled up to the hotel we fell in love with it! The staff were SO welcoming, friendly and helpful! Nothing was a problem or an issue, and best of all, everything was inclusive. No €2 extra for menus or €50 flowers for the tables! So we booked and it only got better.

Throughout the run up to our wedding, Claire and her team were there every step of the way. We used to love having any reason to call into the hotel, which always had to be around lunch so we could avail of the lovely lunch menu!

Then the big day arrived! We were met with champaign and red carpet, all our guest were thoroughly looked after. We had planned to have our pictures taken outside but sadly it started to rain, but the staff quickly rearranged some furniture to allow for the photos to be taken inside which turned out lovely.
The dinner felt like a show, with a little surprise for the top table! The food was stunning, very generous helpings and well presented. The evening buffet went down very well, particularly as some sandwiches were kept back for 2am!

We can not speak highly enough about this hotel and we will defiantly be booking for a weekend next year to remember the wonderful wedding weekend we had. The only bad thing was it went too fast!

Thanks a million to all the staff at the Clanard Court!

We stayed here last weekend, for one night plus evening meal. It was a 40th birthday celebration with my sisters-in-law. the hotel was absolutely lovely, very welcoming, clean and comfortable.
it was quite busy as there were First Communion parties there on the day, but the service in the bar area for food etc was quite good.
The evening meal was one of the nicest I've had in a hotel. I find hotels' food tend to be a bit basic and bland, but this was gorgeous. the service was excellent, the waitress even located candles for us for the cake as we'd forgotten them.
One small gripe - none of our room phones seemed to be working. I opened a window which I later couldn't close, it seemed to be stuck. I had to go the the reception desk late in the evening to report it because the phone wasn't working, but having said that, a staff member came up within minutes to fix the window.
I would definitely recommend this hotel - we got it for a discount price and it was worth every penny and more.

This is my second trip to the Clannard Hotel and I have to say I was not disappointed, such a lovely hotel, and lovely staff, we had a ground floor room that suited me great, the room was immaculate, the food in the hotel excellent, good value, I could not fault this hotel in any way and so look forward to staying here again. It is centrally located to other towns such as Newbridge, Portloaise and Kilkenny if you like shopping. :). We id so much while we were there we did not have time to use the swimming pool but will do the next time.

Room Tip: I always ask for a quiet area not near any hen or stag parties , and if you explain what you like th...

One of those rare trips where finding fault is well nigh impossible. Rooms are excellent and even with a wedding on at the same time quiet. Full irish breakfasts and evening meals are good and the staff are as far as I could find are helpful and smiling.
This is not a bargain basement place to stay but it represents superb value as it could more expensive hotels to shame.

Looking at this review it sounds like it's been written by someone with an interest in the hotel. Not so, the only interest I have in the Clanard is staying there again.
