“4 star hotel ?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2012

My husband our son and myself stayed here for 3 nights 2nd ,march we arrived in the afternoon the girl at check in was very quick girl was polite but again there was no welcome to the killeshin or enjoy your stay with us she did point out restaurant ,bar ,leisure area but never asked us if we would like to book dinner so we asked her to book us a table .We got to our room it was nice ,clean hovering could be a little better .Bathroom was clean no shower mat or toilet brush but however nice and clean. We went to the restaurant nice music playing nice decor and clean .We ordered our starter i had cesear salad which was basic lots of greens very little dressing which made it very tasteless i asked for some dressing i got a little bowl of mayonaise ? I did say it to the girl ?her response was i will let the chef know it seemed there was very little organisation in the restaurant every waiter and waitress seemed to be serving us tables didnt seem to be shared out between them .Again no drinks were offered wine beer etc .We asked for them .Our main course was steak it was ok a bit tough veg was great and potatoe was great .We had desert lemon roulade was flat with lots of berry dressing on top did not taste fresh coffee was not ground coffee as i would expect .So i asked the waitress to change which she did.We went to the bar to have a drink golf was on tv we asked the bar tender to change the channelif possible to be told golf is remaining on ? maybe he likes the sport? We had our drink and left .We went for b/fast on sat morning it was only ok to be honest bacon very dry and over cooked mushrooms i think were from a tin toast was soft coffee was awfull! We didnt have lunch in the hotel .We had bar food in the evening it was good soup was just warm not hot bread rolls were soft .We asked if there was any entertainment in the hotel for the wk end to be told no! disapointed we were however we stayed in the bar to watch golf again my husband asked the bar tender if he would put on the boxing that nite his answer was if no one wants to watch the golf!!!!!!!!! i will . We went to our room and watched tv for the nite .B/fast was the same again .On sunday we had lunch in the bar overall it was good but the same soup just warm lemon roulade was flat again with berrys on top in a very sweet sauce i have never seen lemon roulade with mixed berrys ? We went walking and shopping we returned to the bar to have a sandwich to be told we dont serve any in the bar after 4 o clock stange we said but but! we could get them room service with a tray charge of i think 4 euro each the bar man then said i will try to pull a few strings and get them for ye ok we got them bread wasnt fresh we gave up at this stage! This is why hotels are not doing very well in ireland staff arent selling example book a table? wine at dinner! no entertainment in bar at wk ends .There was no atmosphere in this hotel for the 3 days and 3 nights not one manager did we see in the bar or restaurant .We were disapointed .Monday morning my husband went to collect the car keys at reception at 11 o clock as we had left them there the girl said to him are you going to pay your bill before you leave ? I thought it was rude to be honest he replied when we check out we will pay our bill of couse ! When we did check out the same girl that checked us in never asked did you enjoy your stay or please visit again or was all ok for you .? Dont think we would stay here again this was our experince in this hotel .I found this hotel not 4 star 3 max.Guests should be treated a bit better than that. What i would expect from a 4 star hotel didnt happen in this one.

My husband and I booked this hotel on todayfm.ie for 35 euro a night each with breakfast! Brought our parents with us too. When we brought them to their rooms first we thought they had been upgraded! Rooms are really fab. All rooms are the same throughout the entire hotel. Great big comfy bed and tea/coffee and lovely bathrooms. We ate in the hotel on the Friday night. Yum and delicious baileys coffees and desserts after :) Staff were local I would say and really friendly. Breakfast was tasty and as much as you wanted was there. Staff also lovely here. Two blonde ladies. Went to Seasons restaurant in the town on the Saturday night (recommended!). Stay here - great value and lovely pool etc

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main road - 2nd floor

Stayed in this hotel last December. Booked for two nights dinner, bed and breakfast. The room was very clean but in need of work done as they are a little tired. Food was fantastic and the atmosphere in the bar was good both nights we stayed, its a bit out of the town but only 5 minutes away in a taxi. Staff were really friendly except for the receptionist a tall blond haired girl who i found to be quiet rude. Never got to the leisure Centre but i heard good things about it from the other guests. Will be back!! ( soon hopefully )

We spent one night at this hotel in February 2012 with our 3 young boys. Booked interconnecting rooms which were perfect. The hotel itself is very modern, built in a quiet residential area approx 1km from the town centre. Rooms were fine, but would have to agree with other reviewers when they used the words "a little tired" to describe them. We all loved the leisure complex. Evening meal was good, as was breakfast. Would definitely recommend to other families looking for a quiet relaxing break. Staff were wonderful, they couldn't do enough for us. Oh, safe free parking too!

Stayed here for a work night, nothing much has changed here. Room was grand, bit tired but nothing too major, toe nail clippings all over the carpet so hoover was obviously not used by the housekeeping.
Leisure center was nice but guy on reception was mega rude with no customer service, had to get my own towel when he kept ignoring me.
Food is nice enough here but it can take ages to get served, especially if there is a group

I stayed in this hotel saturday night with my partner. Its a lovely hotel, the staff were very
friendly and helpful. We had a meal in the restaurant and food was absolutely fabulous. our room was very spacious, spotless and comfortable. Breakfast following morning was great and lots choices. I couldnt fault this hotel in any way and would definitely recommend it to anyone and we will def stay there again. We had a very pleasant stay from start to finish.

We booked this hotel on a package of 98 euro for two people B&B and a two-course dinner. The hotel itself is modern and spacious, on the side of the motorway. Reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Asked for a scone with my coffee in the bar and got one that had been microwaved to within an inch of its life. Asked for it to be changed for a cold one and the girl pulled another one out of the plastic packet under the bar - it's a pity that in a hotel with a full restaurant and kitchen that they couldn't make their own scones.
Hotel room was large and nicely decorated. There was a list of TV channels beside the TV, very few channels were actually tuned in and these had poor reception. No extraction fan in the bathroom, which was strange considering that there was also no window. Surprisingly small double bed given the size of the room, but comfortable nonetheless.
Good breakfast but we didn't manage to get any tea and toast until the rest of our food was completely cold - we noticed many other tables having the same problem - staff seemed to be oblivious.
Food in restaurant was delicious, other than the meringue roulade which did not taste fresh.
