Hotel is a great base only hotel. There is a lesuire centre, but we were never told this on checking in.
The food is fantastic quality and good value but its lacking atmosphere. The same with the bar. A few fresh flowers, candles wouldn't go amiss.

Thank you for your comments. It is standard to mention the leisure centre on check in so this surprises me and I will be looking into to it. Fresh flowers and candles are items I purchase on a weekly basis for the hotel so again I am surprised at this comment. Thank you once again for taking the time to review your stay with us, we take all feedback seriously and will endeavour to make changes where necessary.

Yours sincerely,

John Flannery

I spent two full days on a work-related course in the function room. We stayed one night, and had breakfast lunch and dinner at the hotel. There were 70 people in total in our group and all agreed that the hotel was impressive. The room was spotless and it looked newly renovated from start to finish. It was bright and airy and spacious. There was a TV and all the usual conveniences in the room.
Breakfast was buffet style and everything was freshly cooked and nicely presented. There was a nice selection and there was plenty of everything. Tea and coffee were fresh and came promptly with fresh toast.
Lunch on both days consisted of a main course - we had a choice of two. I had chicken served with a mushroom sauce on the first day and beef on the second day served with a lovely tasty gravy. They were hot and tasty both days and the waiting staff were very efficient.
Dinner was delicious and the waiter was pleasant and efficient. He responded quickly and with a smile to requests for other items. We were never left waiting and enjoyed the meal very much.
I'd have no hesitation to recommend this hotel for a business stay or a nice short break.

Room Tip: I had room 221 and it overlooked the main Dublin road which was fairly busy and a bit noisy.

We travelled here as a family to have a 3 day break before the kids went back to School. The Hotel was lovely, nice spacious bedrooms with all the mod cons. We had our dinner in the Restaurant on the 1st night and it was excellent really good service and food was of a very high quality. Kids really enjoyed the swimming pool as for most of the mornings we were there we were the only ones in it. We travelled around Laois and saw the Rock of Dumamase, Emo Court (Fantastic Tour around an amazing house), a wee trip to Kinnitty Castle and then Birr to meet with old friends. Would definately go back to this hotel.

We stayed one night in this spotlessly clean hotel, as a fellow hotelier I notice everything so busmans holiday for me - the lift from underground carpark goes straight into lobby and onto bedroom floor and reception desk in lobby is directly opposite lift, which is very easy. The lobby is decorated tastefully.
I didn't think much of the general area I was driving into, but in fairness not much one can do about that and that wasn't important for us.
The bar architecture is very striking if you like modern glass and wood - stood out and yet blended in. I liked it - outside terrace is lovely on sunny day.
The reception staff were very friendly and briefed us on the facilities.
The room was very bland and boring decor - nothing at all special - very corporate.
The bedroom was way too hot and we had a very bad nights sleep - couldn't find aircon and the window didn't open wide, common in corporate hotels & new builds.
The TV very small and far from the bed.
The double bed was not that big - I had requested a big bed as we are big/tall people.
Our room looked out over the carpark and main busy road which was kind of noisy all night.
Tea & Coffee & Bourbon cream biscuits in the room - biscuits nice touch.
Swimming pool lovely especially with the sun beaming over the Jacuzzi.
Steam room & Sauna lovely.
We practically had the pool to ourselves - so very happy with that.
Leisure staff lovely - towels provided free of charge. Changing rooms nice - hot powerful showers & free hairdryers.
We then ate in the bar - food was good - waiter was distracted and looked like he didn't really care - no eye contact at all - impersonal - the till broke down so took ages to get our bill which was incorrect - a party/group very dressed up turned up and their booking didn't not obviously filtrate through to the 2 bar staff, it all looked very awkward. I think staff have to learn not to say "If I'd known you were coming I would have>>>>>>>>>>>>>" blaming it on one of their team - looked & sounded unprofessional. This group were placed in the closed restaurant/breakfast room (which looked very lacking in atmosphere) - we felt sorry for them.
Service was good as was food but lacked the personal touch or banter, us Irish are good at.
Overall nice hotel but missing a personal touch of the staff??
Room only rate was a good deal. We picked this hotel as around halfway Cork - Dublin.

Room Tip: Room 121 overlooks carpark & busy road.

Having recently stayed at the Killeshin again as a famiiy unit, we found nothing to fault. The room and service were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful at Reception. The food was excellent in its quality, quantity and presentation and dining staff served us in a pleasnt and professional manner. Nothing was too much trouble for them, The bar is comfortable with a convivial atmosphere and despite its popularity the staff were friendly and obliging. One particular gentleman staff member worked tirelessly till all customers finally left remaining friendly and cheerful throughout.

The excellent reputation and efficiency of this hotel is a reflection of the suberb on site management structure. Both the Manager and his deputy should be commended for providing such a high quality service.

There is a frienly and relaxed atmosphere at the Killeshin which is suitable for all.

We look forward to visiting it again and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Very much booked this hotel at the last minute as there was a deal available of €99 for Dinner Bed and Breakfast but we were very impressed. The staff at reception were very pleasant when checking in. The bedroom was large and spacious. We went down to the bar for a sandwich as we arrived around 3pm and the sandwich and the fries were both outstanding. We used the gym facilities, pool and sauna and whilst these were not outstanding it was all clean and perfectly acceptable. We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent. The baked slamon and the roasted vegetables were both done to perfection. The waiting staff were both attentive and helpful. The breakfast the next morning was fine too but we were waiting a few minutes as the restaurant was very busy. Overall, a nice hotel and worth considering if staying in the area.
