“Leisurely break”

Stayed last weekend. Had a nice relaxing time- just what the doctor ordered. After first round of drinks the bar staff knew what the order was for the rest of evening. Good sign of good bar staff.. Dinner in restaurant and service excellent. Manager and staff so attentive even allowing for some of awkard requests. Food tasty and filling. Bedroom fab. Big warm comfortable room. Slept like a baby. Then the icing on the cake had a fab breakfast. Great choice of hot and cold food.
One of the best selections I seen for a while. Keep up the good work.

We spent 3 nights in the Killeshin over the mid term break. It was a perfect. The kids loved the pool and the staff were so friendly to them. It was like a home away from home. We ate 2 evenings in the bar and both adult and children's mealsarrived promptly , were very tasty and we could completely relax which is just what you want on a short break. We had interconnecting rooms which were spotless and super cmfortable beds. I would definitely do it again.

We recently stayed in The Kellishin Hotel and I have to say it is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We arrived on Friday afternoon and received a warm welcome and a lovely room.
We have our dinner on the Friday evening in the hotel restaurant and this was where the staff really excelled. We had our young daughter with us who was unfortunately teething, the staff gave us a quite out of the way seat and checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything. The meal itself was delicious and very filling.
The following morning we also had a lovely breakfast, on this basis we decided to eat in the restaurant again on Saturday night. Our daughter was unwell, so we asked if we could have the meal in or room which the hotel agreed to and even though we didn’t have the meal in the restaurant the standard of food was just as high, once again the staff and especially the restaurant manager couldn’t do enough for us.
I genuinely find it hard to find any flaws with the hotel, we very very happy and would highly recommend it, relations of ours had a similar experience.

Dirty carpets everywhere. The bar had ripped dirty seating. Went into town to eat, the smell in the hotel had turned my stomach. We had 1 pillow each & only 1 set of towels. When I asked for more at reception I was looked at with disdain. This hotel needs painting at the very least. Random chairs piled everywhere. When we checked in there were used cups etc on the coffee table on the lobby area. Four hours later they were still there! These were in sight of the reception area. The curtains in our bedroom were filthy and the chairs stained. On the plus side, dining room is very pleasant as were most of the staff. But there is very much a lack of staff leadership evident. Would never stay in this hotel again.

Dear Guest,

I would be delighted if you would contact the hotel directly to discuss your stay to deal with some of your points directly with you. On a general note the furniture in the bar is in the process of being completely recovered with only 4 items remaining to be replaced. The hotel is undergoing a full repaint with the leisure centre, the car parks, the business centre and one floor of bedrooms completed. All public areas are being touched up as required. I would be delighted to discuss with the cleanliness as the hotel is generally rated excellent for cleanliness. In relation to your comment on the smell and your stomach being turned, I cannot understand this as you proceeded to dine with us on one of your days. I look forward to hearing from to discuss your comments further.

Yours sincerely,

2 soups, 2 sandwiches and 2 coffees for €27 euro. So shocked at the bill we thought it was a mistake.
Neither food nor service was fantastic either. I would seriously doubt I would go back to this hotel as a result.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for your review, while you were shocked by our prices they are in line with both hotels and bar nationally and are clearly listed on the menus. If I could just bring to your attention that the cost of a soup, sandwich and coffee takeway for 2 at a filling station would be in the region of €20. The additional services provided by a hotel do in our opinion warrant the additional charge. We endeavour to provide our guests with the best experience while in the hotel but our pricing is designed to make our business commercial. Once again thank you for your review.

Yours sincerely

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your critique of your stay with us, I am happy to read that you thought the hotel was nice, breakfast was lovely and the cleaning standard was very high. It is correct that we do not provide mini bars but we do have 24hr room service. The hotel is not air conditioned but the bedroom has individually controlled radiators which should have been explained to you on check in. I can only apologise for the badly stained carpet in your room and will have it removed promply.

Yours sincerely,

As regular visitors to the bar and restaurant here,my husband and I find this hotel to be warm and friendly with good food, good drink, and lovely people to chat to. The staff are very kind and friendly, and look after your every need. If I had one gripe, it would be to change the menu in the restaurant more frequently, or maybe provide an a la carte menu.
