We stayed at Smithstown Farm in May 2014. We were greeted with tea and a lovely cake by owner Amanda, who was very personable, welcoming and helpful. As a family of four with two daughters, we were given two rooms, each with two bunk beds, with a shared bathroom in between. The rooms were clean and bright, if plain, with great views of the surrounding farmland. Amanda made reservations and drew us a nice walking map for the 15-minute walk over to the nearby golf club where we had a terrific dinner. The breakfast was great, with warm chocolate croissants, scones, cereal and a variety of other breads. After breakfast we got to visit the barn where a calf had just been born! If you are looking for a friendly, clean, rural place to stay within an easy drive from both Dublin and the Boyne Valley, we highly recommend Smithstown Farm.
