We stayed in the Lodge last Summer for a wedding and decided to go again for my birthday. Everything was excellent, from staff to ambience. Sniffles (the restaurant at the Lodge) was very good, the food was excellent and the staff very well trained and efficient. Overall a great experience.
Only downside: it it got so busy at lunch time on Sunday that we felt under reassure to leave our table (some locals hovering by us asked us to leave!!!)

Relaxing break in a fabulous place. We had a weekend break here recently and from when we arrived until we left we felt so relaxed. We stayed in the Lodge and our room was lovely, was worried that as it was just by reception it would be noisy but it was so peaceful and we didn't hear a thing from people going by.
The staff are fabulous, very attentive and friendly. Dinner in Snaffles restaurant was vert tasty and the set menu is good value with lots of choice. Breakfast was lovely and lovethat that you get a breakfast menu to order from instead of a hot buffet.
We went for a long walk around the grounds on Saturday, longer than expected as we got quite lost but eventually found our way back, it was a bit of an adventure, some more detailed signs on some of the paths would be great or a handy little map of the paths for guests to take with them, as I'm sure we ventured in to parts by accident that were not open to guests.
Will definitely be heading back to Castle Leslie in the future, by far my favourite hotel in Ireland!

Room Tip: The ground floor Lodge rooms have a little balcony and they even provide cushions for them, nice to...

We booked with the Autumn promotions rate which included sparkling wine and chocolates and stayed in the superior room in the lodge. It was a gorgeous room with sumptuous decor. The lodge itself is beautiful and although it has all the mod cons you would desire, it is still in keeping with the traditional grandeur of the castle. We had drinks in Conor's bar which has a lovely atmosphere and Sir John Leslie himself was sitting having a drink after entertaining the restaurant crowd with a few songs on the piano. Our meal in snaffles was absolutely devine - one of the best meals that I've had in a long time. Breakfast was also lovely. We walked up to the castle and it is really something else. The interior is amazing - I would love to return and stay here. All in all I can not fault castle leslie at all and I can't wait to visit again!

I came here with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We stayed in the lodge part of the hotel and have found the whole place run very well, excellent and friendly staff. The grounds are beautiful and there is an onsite stables if you want to go trekking .... food was great and I would highly recommend a stay here in this castle ....

Room Tip: I have no idea what it is like to stay at the castle but the lodge is very modern and comfortable...

First time at Castle Leslie and it certainly is a lovely place and really wonderful place to escape.

It's set in a small village just over the border from N Ireland and about an hour from Belfast.

Good things
- perfect place to escape
- Conors bar good place to enjoy a drink, food also very good here. Service good and they gave us a free glass of wine when they made a mistake with our food order-says a lot about a place when they do things like that :)
- rooms comfortable, clean and nicely decorated
- Snaffles restaurant is awesome (reviewed separately)
- lovely setting
- great spa and my wife and I had very good treatments here, outdoor hot tub warm

Not so good things
- our room seemed to have a connecting door to the room beside. This meant our room was not sound proof and vice versa. We could hear the people next door talking and coughing etc. Thankfully they weren't noisy neighbours!!
- radiators in our bedroom didn't seem to come on even when the one in the bathroom was on. Wasn't terribly cold but could be an issue in the winter time
- paths round the estate were rather mucky and flooded which was a shame as the ground are very beautiful
- the spa only has an outdoor hot tub. The Victorian steam boxes in some of their literature doesn't seem to be available anymore. This might put some people off as other hotel do have more extensive spa facilities e.g. indoor pool etc

Overall though,we both really enjoyed our stay and we do hope to return very soon.

Having been given a gift of a night in the Lodge at Castle Leslie with dinner included we were very much looking forward to our visit and I am delighted to say we were not disappointed. We had a warm welcome from the receptionist who helped us with our luggage to our bedroom which was a lovely olde world type room. We had a lovely stroll around the gardens and surrounding area which is very picturesque. We were unable to visit the Castle on the day as there was a wedding on but the next day on checking out the receptionest told us we were free to visit it and what an amazing place, glad we were able to see inside it. At dinner on the saturday night the food was excellent and the staff were so attentive without being intrusive. Definitely a place that is well worth staying in.

My husband & I stayed here one beautiful Sunday night in late october when the abundant beech trees on this estate were just gorgeous with Autumn golds and oranges in the evening sun as we strolled and explored the stunning estate. We were made feel very welcome and were encouraged to explore both the lodge area and also around the castle grounds, interior and gardens. Wellies are provided if you like in a lovely "boot Room" in both the losge and castle so no need to get your shoes dirty!

Pauline the receptionist checked us into the "jigsaw" room (She was extremely pleasant and helpful and set us off to a great start to our visit.)The room is just beautiful - lt has its own private entrance, sitting room and lovely quaint bathroom with lovely furniture and lovely views. We had a very good sleep in the room and very quiet and peaceful for being on the main entrance to the lodge so don't let that worry you :) We ate our lunch in the downstairs bar - the service was a bit slow, chaotic and untidy tables and floor but it was very busy and lunch time but the food was lovely and the server very pleasant and helpful.

We ate in snaffles in the evening time. Lovely athmosphere, very attentive waitress and gorgeous food but think it is a wee bit over-priced in the economic climate of the moment :( In saying that the restaurant was full which says a lot for the food and restaurant.

Breakfast was the one point that let the whole experience down a little - the cooked option was a little below my expectations but the fruits and yougarts were very nice.

The village is very pretty and quaint and worth a little stroll through. All in all a very enjoyable memorable visit which I would love to repeat again I hope :)
