Just returned from 3 days at Castle Leslie where we attended a fantastic wedding. We had a room in the castle! All the rooms are themed around the original family or surroundings and we got Aggie's room complete with four poster bed and bath in the the bed room. This place is still like the original family home with personal items of fascination everywhere and full use of the family lounges and dining areas. Sir Jack aged 98 joined us for breakfast! The staff are so friendly and helpful and encourage you to treat the building like a home of your own. The wedding was held in the church in the grounds and was just beautiful. The wedding reception is in a permanent marquee attached to a wing of the castle and was completely fantastic, from the decor to the food and staff service. You can also stay in the lodge on the estate which has loads of great rooms. We had lunch there on our first day, seafood platter which was delicious. Breakfast in the castle is an experience in itself, with the best Ulster fry ever, or eggs Benedict if you prefer. We had both and it was great. There are lovely walks around the lake and gardens and the village is an easy walk from the castle or the lodge. Liverpool fans should make a point of visiting the wall plaque in the village commemorating "Honest" John McKenna, founding member and first manager of the club who is from the area. This was living like the gentry of the 20's. Cannot recommend a visit highly enough.

Room Tip: Stay in the castle if you can and see if you can visit "The Throne" in the Red Room.

Stayed in the red room for 2 njghts. Keep in mind its a castle steeped in history, and be open minded to experiencing things that may go bump in the night. The footsteps in the room, the breathing in my ear, and the glowing orb light thing in the room. All in all it did not bother me , because the family history is all around the castle so I knew I was safe, I purchased sleeping tablets for the 2nd night. A beautiful stay, staff wonderfull, a place to reconnect away from the hussle and bustle and technology, I cant wait to stay again, and I shall bring the kids for a horse riding treck, all in all dont look for modern,, go back in time when life was at a slower pace, and bear in mind when the loo was installed in the castle,, a diffent time, loved it. Thank you to all the staff

Room Tip: Taste and ellegence, antiques and class, if you want modern or the usual go somewhere else, otherwis...

We chose this hotel as a contrast to the ultra modern Gibson in Dublin for the second half of our trip. Everything was how I imagined it would be. It was a special occasion, and the hotel gave us a bottle of champagne in the room. We stated in the Lodge, and had a room overlooking the stables. The staff, were quietly efficient, and nothing was too much trouble. We borrowed some wellies, and went for a walk around the estate, which was lovely. We visited the rooms in the castle, and ate in Connors Bar, which was great food, and reasonably priced with drinks far cheaper than in Dublin. We had a treatment at the Spa, and were made to feel very pampered and relaxed. The highlight for me was seeing Sir Jack on both evenings. The only down side, is that you will need a car as it is quite isolated, but we picked one up form Dublin Airport and the drive took approx. 90 mins

Stayed here for a week in one of the elf catering lodges on the estate. Lodges are immaculate with plenty of space. Ideal for a relaxing holiday or if like me travelling on business somewhere to chill at night, with fantastic restaurant and bar on site if needed. Will stay again in the future.

The village of Glaslough on the drive to the castle was the perfect start to our stay at Castle Leslie. The village is beautiful in bloom with hanging baskets and window boxes definitely worth a visit.
On arrival at reception we were warmly welcomed and taken to our room in the lodge 'Fantast'. The room was beautiful and had both a bath and a shower. A bottle of champagne was brought to our room and chocolates accompanied it.
We went for a walk in the magnificent grounds and had a walk round the castle.
I had a table booked for 7.00pm in Snaffles restaurant and the food was amazing and the service the highest standard I've ever experienced in a restaurant.
Breakfast was not a disappointment with anything you wanted cooked to order.
I had a spa experience which I was extremely impressed with.
Really didn't want to leave and after checkout went for a walk and had coffee before departure.
Will definitely be back.

Recently stayed in the Lodges of this magnificent estate. The sole purpose of the break was for my family to enjoy the recommended equestrian centre and tracks. The whole experience was beyond words. The staff did everything to enhance our stay and yes I will be back. My daughters have named the place Equestrian Heaven.
