“Nice Hotel, Good Location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2011

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Room was well appointed, looking out towards the front; it was clean although there were ground in stains on the carpet. There was a large breakfast selection, buffet style each morning and whilst the hotel was busy seating was not an issue. We dined in the nearby Tra Ban in Strandhill on the first night, and had a really lovely meal. The second night we had a bar snack at the hotel which was also lovely. We used the indoor gym and swimming pool which was great (and free of charge), but unfortunately did not have time to use the spa facilities. The hotel was very convenient to Rosses Point and nearby Sligo Town and I would recommend for both couples and families.

The first thing that has to be said about this hotel is unbelievably friendly and helpful staff, sorry dont remember all the names but Bennetta at reception, Oliver in the leisure centre and Raul who served us at dinner all made our stay so relaxed and fun.
Just a quick word about the restaurant we were on a supervalu break but the set menu was miles ahead of any I've seen before. Try the swordfish wrapped in seaweed on spicy fruit as a starter! Really appreciated not being made to feel like 2nd class citizens like some supervalu break hotels.
A word about the rooms they looked fine to me but we had already decided to upgrade to business class as there was me and my two daughters and I dont like to feel cramped, well for only 25 euro PER ROOM! per nite it was really worth it gorgeous big room amazingly comfortable beds and large balcony with beautiful view (this was room 313)
Another wonderful thing about this hotel is that children under 17, yes 17! are free (very glad my daughter is 15).
You have to try the thermal suite again, one of the best i've been in oh and just wait till you see the relaxation room wont spoil the surprise by telling you but you will love it!
I've been telling everyone how much I loved this place but maybe i should keep it my little secret escape place! cant wait to return xx

Room Tip: 313 or 315 worth paying extra

We stayed here for a one night stay last week, a lovely hotel all the staff were very friendly. we ate out on the monday night and then headed back to the bar for a night cap, it was very comfortable and relaxing. The bed was huge and the room nice and big.
Breakfast the next day was lovely although we were down late the buffet was still well stocked and fresh.
Would stay again if in the area!

Availed of the benefits of a Sunday 1 night stay with breakfast for 2. Chose the Business suite as it had free use of the Spa (No treatments). On arrival it was evident this was a busy venue. We had to wait an hour over check-in time to access the room, as previous clients had gone over checkout. Customer service could have been better. An apology was offered, although we would have preferred a complimentary drink or discount. This was not forthcoming, & the mere hint of this was quickly brushed away. The room was large., clean, with wifi, tv, usual minibar. The kettle was not clean & had seen better days. The bed was 2 joined singles, spacious& comfortable. A comp magazine & morning paper added value marked against the pricey confectionery & beverages.
The Spa & facilities were very good. When booking your stay it is advisable to book your treatments or general use with times, as we found on arrival it was fully booked. However the staff offered the use of the Spa ad-hoc. We were impressed with the facilities & the relaxation area was fab, with complimentary herbal teas & fruit to hydrate after the Spa. There is a an indoor pool & gym which we did not use.
The breakfast was buffet style, busy for Monday morning. The range of food was fair. Cereals were sparse though. Cooked breakfast was good, replenished quickly. Service was basic, & the mood was a little hectic at times, shown on the faces of the staff.
The setting of the hotel is good, just situated north of the town, on a slightly elevated site.
In summary our stay was good. The use of the Spa made the stay more memorable within a hotel chain with more corporate character than good old fashioned service.

The room was

We stayed for 3 nights in early August. The food was FANTASTIC! As previous reviewers have said the breakfast is gorgeous and really sets you up for the day. We ate in the restaurant on one evening and i can honestly say it was the best meal i have had in ages. I was expecting a typical "hotel" dinner but what i got was top restaurant quality. My husband has recently become vegetarian and was delighted with the choice available and the advice from the waiter, We also had lunch in the hotel and were very pleased. I dont think we were just lucky with our choices It appears there is a high standard of food presentation, quality and service in this hotel. I am surprised it doesn't feature on the sligo restaurant reviews. The hotel is nice and location is great for touring around county Sligo. The rooms are nice and spacious. The first night our room which was located on the second floor had a stale smell of cigarette smoke so we requested a change the following morning and we were facilitated. The spa is well equipped and very relaxing. We didn't use the pool/leisure centre, so cant comment there except to say it looked fine. As people who like nice food we will definately be back!!

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Radisson and both agree that we would definitely be back again. We arrived late evening on the Saturday and we greeted immediately by the kind and helpful staff at reception. The lady quickly checked us in and directed us to our lovely room which was at the front of the hotel. The first thing I noticed was the hen party in the suite beside our room. (it was decorated with balloons etc) This worried me as I thought we would be up half the night when the ladies returned. Thankfully, we were not. We didn't hear a thing all night! The rooms are lovely, very clean and modern and there is plenty of choice with the TV channels. Each room also has a mini bar which I think is a nice touch even if you don't use it. We ventured into Sligo for something to eat.. It's only a ten minute drive away which is very convenient as in nearby Rosses Point the majority of restaurants are seafood orientated. I am sure these are lovely for those that enjoy seafood but I am allergic so therefore not for me! Had a lovely meal in Sligo and then returned to the Radisson for a more than wonderful nights sleep. The breakfast in the morning is exceptional and they really have ample choice for all. All in all we had a wonderful stay and most certainly will be retuning again but perhaps for longer this time! Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Rooms at front overlook the water in distance, rooms in back look at the beautiful mountains. Either...
