The Radisson Blu is a contemporary house set outside of town in an attractive country setting- the grounds are worth a walk. The public areas are attractive in a contemporary style and seemed well maintained. We enjoyed the service and food at both breakfast and dinner. Our room was a little uneven in its offerings. It was a larger room and medium bath, with a king bed and a sleeper sofa. It had two TV's with moderate channel selection. The bed was so soft that we did not have our best night of sleep. The towels, linens and toiletries were average at best. The internet was complementary ( thank you), but the deck lamp was not working and the sink was plumbed backwards. This is probably really a 3 1/2 score due to the uneveness of the experience for a 4 star house. (GT 8)

The hotel is nice however the rooms are very small and eventhough they are non smoking rooms the smell of cigarettes in the room was a major turn off. We changed rooms immediately.
The queue for breakfast was also unnecessary. This could be handled differently - perhaps a second dining room?
The hotel is located outside of Sligo town therefore we had to get buses, taxis etc.

My husband and I stayed for a 3 night midweek break in an executive room. The room was lovely with great views of the sea, the executive room includes lots of little extras - coffee machine in the room, complimentary mineral water, movies, thermal suite passes, no room service charges just to name a few, we felt it was worth the bit extra for these perks. The breakfast was nice both a cooked and continental buffet plenty of choice to suit most tastes, even if like me you're in the clutches of morning sickness! Leisure center is great lots of facilities and well mantained. The real high is the spa I can't praise it enough I had a facial and dry float which was pure relaxation. My husband had a stress buster massage which he really enjoyed. Staff were fab too, professional and discreet just what you need in a therapist. I thought the prices were reasonable too for the amount of time you get. Also lots of special offers available. Bar was chilled out had a good menu for both lunch or a casual dinner and again can't praise the staff enough. We ate in the restaurant on one night and was a bit of a let down. The menu is really limited in its choices and what was there was a little dull. The starters were a disaster for me as they read like an exclusion list for the pregnant woman! Also felt service was a bit lax. Took an age to have our order taken, in fact we noted several people, older as it happened, were served before us. We noted this preferential treatment over the course of the evening, as a result it took over 2 hours to have a 2 course meal. It wasn't particularly busy so I can't explain the poor service.

Room Tip: Executive rooms offer extra comforts

I recently stayed at the Radisson on a working weekend with a group of people with disabilities. We were well received on arrival and the staff really looked after us for the entire weekend.
The rooms were spacious and fully equipped with the necessities. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Rooms had a minibar; however the contents were outrageously expensive.
The breakfast buffet was very good, plenty of selection and constantly being watched by staff and refilled if necessary.
We had lunch and dinner in the hotel; dinner on Saturday evening was exceptional. The food was beautiful and the staff were very efficient. Nothing that we asked for was too much bother.
The only negative about the Radisson was the wireless access is rubbish but there is access to a computer room upstairs.
I didn’t use the leisure facilities but heard from our group they were good.
As far as having a conference / business meeting is concerned, the room had every thing that we needed. Tea, coffee was promptly delivered to us at regular intervals.
Over all, I had a very good first experience staying at this hotel.

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Room was well appointed, looking out towards the front; it was clean although there were ground in stains on the carpet. There was a large breakfast selection, buffet style each morning and whilst the hotel was busy seating was not an issue. We dined in the nearby Tra Ban in Strandhill on the first night, and had a really lovely meal. The second night we had a bar snack at the hotel which was also lovely. We used the indoor gym and swimming pool which was great (and free of charge), but unfortunately did not have time to use the spa facilities. The hotel was very convenient to Rosses Point and nearby Sligo Town and I would recommend for both couples and families.
