“Weekend break”
Reviewed 17 October 2013

The hotel is in a great location with amazing views of Sligo Bay, Knocknarea and Benbulben towards Yeats Country. It is ideally located near Sligo on one of the peninsulas. Car transport is best for getting around.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The upgraded room was spacious but the electronic content ie the TV was out dated and the remote did not work. The batteries were replaced quickly. The wifi connection was very weak. The breakfast area was popular and some parents clearly forgot about their location when their children ran free and wild.

Great location and fit for purpose.

The hotel is situated among nice surroundings. On a Bank holiday weekend we arrived in the evening (on Saturday) and unfortunately as the hotel was fully booked , despite our reservation as Business Club members, we were given presumably the staff room which was everything but a nice room, overlooking the smoking area of the bar. After talking to the receptionist and the manager they resolved our problem and we have been moved to a very nice room the next day. I understand that bank holiday weekends are extremely busy but we expected a standard room as in every Radisson we have visited before . Plus point is that the staff and the manager tried to do everything to get us a new room .
Their swimming pool is nice and there is a small jacuzzi as well.
Otherwise, Sligo is beautiful and well worth a visit.

I would agree with title of previous corporate hotel. We were organising a conference and Radisson Sligo submitted the most competitive quote. Lunch was ok on both days. Soup was quite salty and there could have been more sandwiches. Wifi was unreliable on the first day of conference. This is an essential item in the booking of any conference. Can't say that there was anything particularly "wrong" but there is definitely room for improvement.

Business stay was ideal, will return each month and enjoy this well run hotel. Very comfortable beds, well maintained furnishings and friendly staff. The menu is good and the breakfast offering is perfect. Only fault is the car park, full, so had to park a long distance from the entrance, overall it was not an issue.

Stayed here last week with my sister and her family.

Decided to splash out and treat myself to the one bedroom suite - thinking that the most expensive room in a hotel must also be the best....this didn't quite turn out to be true.

The rate details (from Radisson site) promises:
One bedroom suite with living area and plasma screen TV, overlooking Sligo Bay and Benbulben Mountain.

Having lived in Sligo previously I was looking forward to a room with a view of the magnificent Benbulben mountain. Little did I know that you had to request a 3rd floor suite in order to Benbulben mountain (1st and 2nd floor all you see is the back of the car park). I raised this with the receptionist when checking out and he seemed familiar with the problem and said next time I needed to request one of the three top floor suites otherwise I wouldn't see the mountain.

Also - this is my 2nd stay at this property and I am a bit disappointed that I now know the maintenance staff better than the front desk staff. (first stay problem with fuses in the room - and during this stay I had to move rooms this stay due to air conditioning filter).

On the positive side the dinner we had on the first night in the hotel restaurant was excellent and service there was very good (even though the restaurant itself lacks atmosphere).

Also the spa is very nice - would recommend it.

Hotel is a bit outside Sligo town so a car is recommended as taxis are quite expensive here. There is a limited bus service.

Room Tip: Avoid the one bedroom suites - opt for the better value the Junior Suites instead and make sure you...

If you are looking for a corporate hotel with no personality then this is for you. The positives include it's good facilities, with a spa, gym and business centre. The food is also good. But it is the same as any other large hotel chain, bland and non-descript. The lighting on the corridor leading to room 249 gave felt like I was in a hospital and the constant air conditioning noise outside the window was very annoying.

Room Tip: Don't!
