Myself and boyfwiend stated here for long weekend in January. The house was clean and warm, log burner was ready to light when we arrived. Wonderful walks on the beautiful beach, we hope to return to very soon.
Myself and my family booked this house for the week between Christmas and NY. Stayed one night only and left. Horribly damp and freezing, the fuse for the central heating and the sockets kept tripping. Slept one night in a freezing cold damp room and suffered as a result through the rest of Christmas. No heating in the kitchen or bathroom/toilet. Main bathroom/toilet has a glass door making privacy impossible
Just returned from a lovely 2 week holiday in this cottage. We found the booking process and all communication with the owners quick and easy.
The cottage is set in a secure and very well kept holiday home park. We stayed end of the summer season and it was very quiet as most holiday home owners seemed to have gone home. There was about 4/5 holiday homes in front of the cottage but there is still a wonderful sea view available.
Cottage itself was bigger than we expected, well equipped and cosy in the evenings. One or two items (including the bbq) probably need replacing after the long summer season.
As previously stated the steps to the beach are quite steep but so worth the effort as its a beautiful beach. The cliff walk to the pub or to the pier for crab fishing was also idyllic.
All in all a very good experience and we would return.
Fantastic cottage just north if Coretown in Cahore
Close to the beach
Clean and modern feel to cottage
Plenty of space
Use of bikes
20 minute walk to cahore for Crabbing
25 minute drive to Coretown, Pirates bay, adventure park, swimming pool.
Laminate flooring can be noisy at night, particaurly on the stairs
Steps to the beach are steep (not toddler friendly)
Coretown felt a bit unloved in places, closed down pubs and restaurants.
No play area/swings on caravan site
Showers can be put on at the same time or electricity will trip
Clean well serviced cottage. Kitchen had everything a family needed. Safe quiet surroundings for children. Virtually on the beach, lots of beautiful walks. Totally relaxing holiday. The only suggestion would be a better mattress for the double bed but otherwise a great holiday home. Would stay again.
We stayed here in June with two small children ( 4 and 20 months). The house itself is very nice, clean and has everything you need. Great view of the sea from the house. The house and the mobile park are very safe and the whole area is enclosed, leaving the kids to roam free. There were also other kids around the park, which was great for my kids. The park is not too big which is great as while the kids have freedom to roam, they cant go too far either. The park itself is right at the end of cahore head and only a two minute walk to the beach via the cliff walk or 5 minutes via the road. You can go the cliff route with the small kids, you just need to be careful. The beach itself is fantastic and it stays pretty shallow a long way out making it safe for swimming. There is a shop in Ballygarrett only a few minutes drive away. Courtown and Gorey are only a short drive away and there is loads to do for kids in the area. But the weather was fantastic during our satay which made the beach all the better.
Beautiful part of country, excellent amenities in the cottage lovely beach and surrounding grounds found Laura to be very pleasant and helpful and would certainly be looking to book in the future as my wife and I,and our pet dog found it was a truly enjoyable experience.
