“Beautiful country cottage at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains.”

Beautiful scenery and convenient to all the local attractions- Glendalough, Avoca , Arklow and Brittas Bay. The cottage itself was very cosy and well equipped, with fantastic views over the surrounding area. The garden is a great size, especially if you have children with you, plenty of space and lots of nature to see. It was lovely to watch the rabbits playing in the garden and all the birdlife making use of it too. A truly peaceful location as the cottage sits on its own. The Woodenbridge Hotel and a garage are close by and Arklow is approximately 15 mins drive away ,with a good range of shops and supermarkets.

“Peaceful cottage in a lovely area - and plenty of places to visit”
Reviewed 20 March 2017 for a stay in September 2016

The TV series 'Ballykissangel' and love of peace and quiet brought us here. Yeats's Lake Isle poem is an old favourite.
Fine walks in the Avoca Valley including the Red Kite Trail and up the hill to an interesting old cemetery. Beautiful Church and Masses at St Mary's in Arklow.
Kilkenny is well worth a visit. We also went to the beach at Brittas Bay and the one further away at Curracloe. We some seals in the sea near Wicklow.
Great day at Glendalough including picturesque hill-walking - go early before it might get busy and bring a picnic if staying for the day - no cafes seen.
The black cat which visits the cottage prefers full cream milk but will drink semi-skimmed when nothing better on offer. The affectionate cows in the next field usually came over to say hello to us when we came out. We hope to be back soon.

“Magical”
Reviewed 15 March 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Me and my husband recently enjoyed a 9 night stay at this charming little cottage in co.Wicklow. We highly recommend a stay in this beautiful little place. Its the perfect getaway if your wanting to experience some of the beautiful country side in Ireland. The views from the cottage are breathtaking. looking out over the stunning Wicklow mountains whilst having your meals at the breakfast table is really special. Inside the cottage there is a lovely open fire to cuddle up in-front of in the evening and the cottage is very cosy, the beds are extremely comfortable. The cottage is in a great location if you enjoy walking or you can simply relax and unwind whilst enjoying the views. Its the perfect place for meditation or a spiritual retreat. Nearby are some charming traditional villages, the Cartoon Inn and Bate's restaurant at Rathdrum are well worth a visit, very beautiful. There is a great town about a 6 minutes drive from the cottage called Arklow which has great shops and some friendly traditional Irish pubs, Darcys and Christys are great places to grab a bite to eat. We enjoyed some beautiful food there. both are very good. The Ship Inn does the best pint of Guinness anywhere, the service is fabulous.
When we arrived at the cottage the caretakers gave us such a lovely warm welcome, they were just a phone call away should we have needed anything. We felt really looked after.
All in all, this is one of the most perfect locations we have stayed at in Ireland and we are already counting the days for our return. A very special little place.

'I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree' - W.B.Yeats

And so you should. We had a week of glorious weather (exception rather than norm) with high pressure sitting of Iceland and warm sunny weather in Ireland. So warm we had all meals in garden on stone table, including breakfast. I took up running and haven't stopped since - it began in the garden of Innisfree. The cottage interior is intimate, well stocked, has central heating and fireplace. We spent our time walking in the Wicklow mountains and visiting local beach and cafes. I intend to stay again at Innisfree as very uplifting experience - I am unlikely to experience such exceptional weather again, this was a bonus. I and my daughter jokingly referred to our holiday as Costa del Wicklow, although in fact it was true!
