“Wonderful Stay”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

My sisters and I spent our first night in Ireland in this lovely B&B. Located on a beautiful mountainside overlooking Lower Lake, this inn was the perfect place to hike or just sit and enjoy the magnificent views. The beds were so comfortable, and the food was fantastic. I would definitely stay here again, and will recommend to others traveling to the area.

My friend and I spent 2 nights here in April 2014 and I must say it was amazing. I can not fault the area and further more I can not fault Derrymore House. Penny and Pat made our stay fantastic with great food and warm hospitality. Breakfast is that of champions and the bed was like floating on a cloud.
It has views that will leave you breathless and its in easy access to all you need.

Top trump for me and we will definitely go back and stay with Pat and Penny again.

T&S

Room Tip: We stayed in room 3 and it was perfect and very cosy

My husband and I spent two nights at Derrymore House. We loved our room ... actually a sitting room and bedroom... had large windows and views of the mountains and lake. Penny, the owner, was gracious and breakfast was delicious. There were ancient trees and colorful flowers and walking paths. It is a perfect place for those who love nature, quiet and peaceful surrounds ... a good place to write or paint or simply enjoy the beauty around you.

Penny gave us helpful suggestions for places to dine and hear music.

We wish we could have stayed a week instead of just two nights.

We stayed in Derrymore House in August 2013 for four unforgettable nights in the lovely Wicklow-Mountain-Countryside.
The B&B is situated in the scenic Vale of Glenadlough, close to the ruins of the old monastic settlement and with an adorable view onto the Lower Lake. It's the perfect basis for hiking-tours into the nearby mountainside, with waterfalls, rivers, wild deers and great views just in front of the door. Glendalough is a small and calm, but also touristic village with a pub/restaurant, bus service, hotel - all within walking distance.
Penny and Pat did great with a warm welcome and a familiar atmosphere. They were always taking time for a small talk or to answer our questions. The breakfast was lovely and rich, all homemade - the best soda-bread in Ireland :-) Also the lunchpackages were really rich, including homemade cake.
The room was more than spacious, indeed we had two rooms en-suite with tea-making facilities, sofa, two TV and access to the "family-video-store" - and great view onto the lake.

It was the best B&B we've been during our Ireland-Holidays and all for a very fair price.
So thanks a lot, Penny. We had a great time :-)

We booked three double rooms in Derrymore House almost by chance as other places could not take us.

That was really a marvellous spot. The rooms were superb. The breakfast was amazing and so was the service (Penny the owner deserves awards for both!).

The house is in the middle of nature, with marvellous views to the lake.

Had I know the place I would have planned the trip for two nights there instead of one.

Ideal for couples or family or just for rest!
