We were recommended this restaurant by our B&B owner and we were not disappointed. The menu had a very good selection for children and an excellent variety on the full menu.
We enjoyed the background music which we were pleased was at a sedate level which meant we could enjoy conversation over our meal.
The staff were very attentive.

Recently ate here for the 2nd time and it lived up to the memory of the 1st visit.

The pate starter was absolutely fantastic and the fillet steaks cooked to perfection. We had to send back the garlic potatoes that accompanied the steaks as the flavour was overpowering, leaving you tasting nothing but garlic (coming from 2 people who eat a lot of garlic!). There was no issue with this and the staff had some mashed potato out to us very quickly.

Nice touch with the complimentary Bailey's at the end of the meal.

Great service, friendly staff, excellent food, great location - will definitely be back.

Stopped here with 4 of us while touring Glendalough. What a great restaurant and staff! Lucky for us we happened upon it. We would recommend it.

“Well worth a stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

I take small groups to Ireland every year, and I make a point of including dinner here on every trip. They have a nice variety of starters, entrees and desserts, so everyone should have an easy time finding something they love. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive without "hovering." Service runs smoothly and food arrives in a timely manner. Their mushroom soup is the best I've found in Ireland!

For dessert, I highly recommend the banoffi pie or the hot chocolate profiteroles. Oh, wait, they also have wonderful creme brulee .... oh, and I mustn't forget to tell you about their delicious, warm apple, rhubarb & strawberry crumble with vanilla custard and ice cream. Do you see why it's worth a stop? The only problem is that it's hard to choose just one dessert....thank heavens some people are willing to share!

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2013

Have been passing this restaurant for years thinking it was just a tea and cake cafe. What a surprise I got yesterday when finally entering the restaurant. The interior is really nice and homely and the food was just excellent. THe staff are very friendly and helpful. Had lamb and my wife had corned beef and both were eaten in with gusto as they tasted as good as any meal I have had in whenever. Really good portions and great taste. Am going back next week for the desert - had no room left yesterday.

All I can say is do not pass - go in and discover a real hidden gem
