“Perfect evening”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

I have eaten at the Wicklow Heather Restaurant from time to time for over 20 years and have followed the improvements made by the owner. My recent meal with 5 others was superb. We could not think of any single point where the restaurant could have done better. We chose a variety of dishes - sea food chowder, pate, warm caesar salad were among the starters and rabbit, duck, fried haddock, sea bass and irish stew were the main courses. Each one was excellent, portions generous and presented beautifully. Complimentary Baileys too. Go for it!

“Lovely Ambiance”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

We were recommended this restaurant by our B&B owner and we were not disappointed. The menu had a very good selection for children and an excellent variety on the full menu.
We enjoyed the background music which we were pleased was at a sedate level which meant we could enjoy conversation over our meal.
The staff were very attentive.

“Fantastic”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

Recently ate here for the 2nd time and it lived up to the memory of the 1st visit.

The pate starter was absolutely fantastic and the fillet steaks cooked to perfection. We had to send back the garlic potatoes that accompanied the steaks as the flavour was overpowering, leaving you tasting nothing but garlic (coming from 2 people who eat a lot of garlic!). There was no issue with this and the staff had some mashed potato out to us very quickly.

Nice touch with the complimentary Bailey's at the end of the meal.

Great service, friendly staff, excellent food, great location - will definitely be back.

“Well worth a stop”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

I take small groups to Ireland every year, and I make a point of including dinner here on every trip. They have a nice variety of starters, entrees and desserts, so everyone should have an easy time finding something they love. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive without "hovering." Service runs smoothly and food arrives in a timely manner. Their mushroom soup is the best I've found in Ireland!

For dessert, I highly recommend the banoffi pie or the hot chocolate profiteroles. Oh, wait, they also have wonderful creme brulee .... oh, and I mustn't forget to tell you about their delicious, warm apple, rhubarb & strawberry crumble with vanilla custard and ice cream. Do you see why it's worth a stop? The only problem is that it's hard to choose just one dessert....thank heavens some people are willing to share!
