“Excellent base for exploring Wicklow”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

This was a 4 night, extended family break. The family rooms are huge and the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in! There were a few small issues that I feel I should mention; there were some black marks on the walls and some small patches of plastering on the walls. If the patches had been painted over it would have looked so much better. There were bits of enamel that had come off the bath and left some black patches, but the bathroom was very clean. The breakfast was good and plenty of choice for kids and adults alike. We ate in the restaurant twice and the food was lovely. The bar staff and serving staff were very friendly and polite. The location is in a small, quiet town, and it is a great location for exploring. Make sure you visit the Powerscourt Estate which is breathtaking and Glendalough monastic settlement. For a 3 star hotel, this is great value.

Visited here for 3 nights and would recommend without hesitation. Very good location for visiting Wicklow, most sited within 20-30 minutes. Nice rooms, quite and clean and larger than expected. The staff were without exception excellent. We arrived very late and got a bit lost, the front desk attendant stayed with us on the phone and guided us turn by turn, came out to the road to flag us down and greet us. One nit: it's easy to pass right by it at night since there's no sign out front, I would suggest they correct this.

They went out of their way to find converters for us and were tremendous help with a special delivery we needed to receive. We didn't partake of the dining room. There's a Dunnes supermarket next door where we purchased all we needed for breakfast and lunch. All in all a restful and enjoyable stay. I'd have given a 5th star but this is not a luxury resort, but certainly is at the top of 4 star quality.

I visited here for lunch with 3 friends on Sunday 6th July. First disappoint was that they have abandoned their carvery lunch in favour of a special which of course is more expensive. My beef was tasty, but green beans in vegetable mix was raw. The ribs were way too fat and not very palatable. Soup for one of our group never arrived. People arriving after us with similar food were served before us. But my biggest gripe was the 1 euro EACH charge for a dash of blackcurrant. Surely with a bill of almost 50 euro it should have been free or at least something like 15c if they felt they needed to cover the cost. Will think long and hard before coming off the M11 there again.

Stayed one night .Very happy overall . Would heartily recomend Parkview . Very suitable for springboard to explore Wicklow, which for those who may not know is the most beautiful county in Ireland ! ! !
Room was very comfortable . beds were great. Shower also was good .Plenty of storage , all needs appeared to be more than adequately covered. This hotel was well served by all staff with whom we were lucky enough to meet, Lauren and Christy in particular. Whatever these two are paid it's not enough ! Well done !

Room Tip: Ask for room not facing out to car park .

Stayed for 2 nights over the weekend & was quite impressed, only thing that let it down was the restaurant food, we had dinner included so booked in for the Friday night in the restaurant. The place was so cold, & no atmosphere, no music & place was empty. Staff were really lovely & friendly, food was cold but there was no issue fixing the problem but I had the duck & it really was not up to much. Bf had T-bone steak & was gorgeous, tho also not v hot, it seems they do a v good bar food trade & concentrate more on that. Was a pity because restaurant is lovely. Breakfast was good, proper fry & nice selection of fruits/breads/meats. We had a lovely meal in the bar on second night, atmosphere is lovely in the bar. Would def return but would not be booking into the restaurant.

Just returned from a 3 day break with Mum and sis! Location is perfect for all the great tourist attractions Wicklow has to offer, Avoca, Powerscourt, Glendalough, Mount Usher Gardens etc....
The room was very comfortable and the service excellent! Food was great, ate there every night.
Only draw back is that there isnt any leisure centre/pool, having said that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for a great mini break!

I really enjoy staying in this hotel I find it relaxing as there never seems to be the bustle I experience in other hotels and not just a result of being quiet there are many times the hotel is busy but I still find this a lovely place to relax Staff are pleasant and welcoming. and have always found them to be attentive Rooms I also find spacious and clean .
It is disappointing to read negative reviews but in my experience and have stayed many times and would recommend this hotel . Location is convenient to main motor routes and also sits in quaint village with Wicklow hills nearby
