“Professional & polite”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Had the great pleasure of attending a wedding last week. Staff were extremely attentive and the service throughout the meal was exceptional. I've been to many weddings and the delivery of food is usually a car crash. The meals arrived to around 100 of us dining on time and exactly to our seating positions. I love when this happens, it really makes the meal a memorable one. Meal was yummy and well presented. Well done to all the team that put so much effort in to making the night a very special one. I would really recommend meeting the young manager Liam. He's extremely sharp and organised and he runs a tight ship. Our Bride was ill on the night and he delayed service, controlled and entertained our crowd until further notice. He really couldn't have done much more to keep our gang extremely happy, he's extremely professional & polite. We will definitely be back soon for some more of the 5 star service at Tinakilly

Room Tip: Ask for Liam the manager

Stumbled across this hotel two months ago and the owner invited us in to have a look around the recently refurbished hotel. Blown over by the revamp I decided to book the hotel for my friends hen. 11 of us in total and we were treated like royalty. Beautiful rooms with sea views. Orla kiely soaps and body lotions were a nice touch. Our meal in the beautiful dining room was delicious. I will definitely be returning. Big thanks to Jolene and the owner who looked after us so well. This hotel deserves to do well. A real treat.

Just spent the most amazing 4 days here.
Staff were incredible; love the way they remembered me from the previous time when I stayed and gave me such a warm greeting - nice touch! I think the warmth rubs off on the guests - everyone was so friendly to each other at breakfast and in the bar.
Tinakilly organised morning horse rides on the beach (beautiful!!!), polo lessons with Polo Wicklow (really cool and super friendly people) and golf on a nearby course.
Loads of activities but also had time to kick back and relax in the cool 'pods' in the garden.
Great food as well - really recommend the sambuca chicken pasta dish - delicious and filling enough to keep you going all day!!!
'Tinners' is my new favourite place to chill - really looking forward to my next trip.
Tips - ask if there are any rooms facing the sea so that you can enjoy morning sunrise over the water and look out for the Tinakilly Elderflower Whiskey - amazing!
Thanks to all the staff for looking after me - see you soon! ;-)

I have been staying in Tinakilly on and off over the last month, due to business commitments in the area, and I must say I find the venue to be extremely pleasant. The food is great, the staff were continuously friendly and helpful and the rooms are very, very comfortable. I couldn't recommend the place more and on a sunny day there's nowhere more pleasant to spend the day -their gardens are exquisite and the whole place is extremely calm and relaxing. A big thumbs up from me!

Last week I booked a 2 night stay at Tinakilly Country House Hotel, to celebrate my wifes 50th birthday. Wow what a great time we had, from the moment we arrived to departure....we could not have asked for or expected anything more, truly fantastic...We arrived on the Thursday evening and were delighted with the room we were allocated,, sea views and very generously proportioned, extremely comfortable, clean and spacious...We had a most enjoyable meal on the Thursday night, ordered from the A La Carte, spoiled for choice, food and service excellent, finished off with cheese board and Irish Coffee. Friday, great day, sat and enjoyed the beautiful gardens, full of colour and maintained to the highest of standards. Were blessed with the sunny south east weather, we were truly in the Garden of Ireland in every respect..After enjoying the afternoon tea, we chilled out in the Whiskey bar and enjoyed the ambiance and friendly atmosphere. Friday night we had a reservation for 12 in the Restaurant, where we were joined by 10 of our friends for dinner. We had the most fantastic night and made to feels very special by the staff. Again, the food and service was excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant was fantastic, we had an absolute ball, we drank late into the evening and had great craic with the very friendly staff..Saturday morning, feeling a little delicate but soon back to normality following a good old traditional Irish breakfast. We fell in love with Tinakilly House Hotel, the beautiful surroundings and Gardens but most of all the friendly staff and fare made it for us...guess what !! we didn't go home, booked in for an extra night...what a great celebration...Thank you to the staff at Tinakilly, you made it for us...treated so well with genuine warmth....we will be back, sooner rather than later...Keep up the good work !!! Gerry and Ann

Room Tip: We stayed in 2 different rooms, as we stayed an extra night. Both room, very large, clean and extrem...

The staff here really let the place down. Place is beautiful and old school, lovely grounds and very well maintained. Thats the good, the bad is the staff. Not one pleasant dealing with them in our two nights staying here for wedding. Dinner on the first night. I looked online beforehand and selected what i wanted. I ordered it but something else entirely came out. Their menus don't match and no solution was offered, the manager just said i should have read their actual menu. The waiter had no clue about the menu and even shrugged his shoulders when i asked what types were in the cheese selection. Every other time over the two nights that i ordered food or went to the bar staff were extremely slow and unwelcoming. Such a shame, the place has a lot of potential. They need to either get new staff or train them in some common courtesys.
