We stayed here for a week in August. A lovely hotel, with nice modern rooms and bathrooms. Fresh towels were always supplied and tea/coffee/biscuits were always replenished in the rooms.
The food in the restaurant was of a very high standard with a great selection to choose from. The staff (in particular the bar and restaurant staff) were very attentive and always very friendly/chatty-however breakfast service wasn't as attentive, however it was much busier then.
The pool was lovely and there was free wifi in the main areas of the hotel.
All in all a lovely hotel and great location.

Just had a 3 night stay at this hotel. The seaview room we had was small but clean and comfortable. The only downside was that it was right by the car park and with the window open at night time you could hear any noise of restuarant guests leaving. It is situated up a rather steep hill but is only a few minutes walk away from shops, bars, restuarants and the beach. The food was good although breakfast was always a little chaotic and as long as you were not in a rush then acceptable. (Please note that there are steps down to the restuarant). The staff were all really friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. A nice place to stay in a great position with lovely views over the bay from the restuarant.

We are both in our 70,s and if you are looking for a traditional hotel and not the modern plastic and chrome versions the Somerville is your place. Ask for a seaview room costs a bit more but worth it, lovely location overlooking the marina and bay, great food in the restaurant. The staff were efficient and friendly.St aubins viilage itself is a few minutes walk away with numerous restaurants and bars. One word of caution, access to the hotel is up quite a steep hill, so if you have mobility or breathing problems hire a car, we did and it made things much easier.

Room Tip: Sea view room

The service on arrival right through to departure was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was good the room adequate and clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom clean. Room service was prompt. The restaurant was pleasant and all meals and service superb. What a nice change to have bacon and eggs etc freshly cooked [not under heated lamps !!!!!] The service and food at the wedding was once again faltless, the waiters all very attentive but discreet. Thankyou to all the staff for my stay [4 days].
The hotel itself is very pleasant and has great views accross the bay. The gardens are very pretty and are there to be sat in, the pool was clean and friends used the facilities, towels always available

Room Tip: Rooms can be a bit warm as windows do not open very wide,I was on ground floor facing front and carpark but not noisy.

First of all the many positives, this is a lovely hotel, with great views, great staff and a lovely comfortable feeling. The terrace is lovely to sit for coffee, the gardens and pool area were great. All the sea views were booked, so we took an Inland View room, this would not normally bother us as we don't usually spend a lot of time in the room, and it was a good job that we didnt on this holiday. The room was on the third floor at the back, it was a nice room . not too big but adequate for us, lovely comfortable bed and nice furnishings good size and well appointed bathroom, it was well kept by the housekeeping staff. But it had 1 big negative. Directly outside the room was an extractor unit which ran from the hours of 7.00am to 10pm, it was very noisy even with the window shut. The weather was lovely and the room was stifling, but when we opened the window, we were deafened by the noise from this unit, and also when the window was opened you got cooking smells in your room. This is such a lovely hotel, we would definately stay again, its in a lovely location with amazing views overlooking St Aubins bay. However, if you stay here and book an Inland View (which we would do again), make sure that it's not near the extractor unit...... avoid room 305. We mentioned this on the customer survey when we checked out, and also to the lady on reception, who smiled nicely but didnt offer any form of apology or recompense. We had a lovely holiday on Jersey and a lovely stay at this hotel......but it would have been perfect if not for the one negative issue.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms near the extraction unit
