Description: This exceptional restaurant showcases modern British cooking in a classic setting with the emphasis on fresh Jersey produce and superb service. This is exemplified in the A la Carte menu and a daily changing Market Menu featuring the best seasonal ingredients with the freshest taste of the island. New for this year is the Tasting Room - a modern adventure in food and wine. Not forgetting younger guests, the Little Ones menu has a selection of treats and half-sized portions of main menu favourites for budding gourmets. There is also a lounge menu with a lighter offering including sandwiches and salads, while an impressive afternoon tea can be enjoyed year-round in the comfort of the elegant lounge areas or on the sun-drenched terrace in the summer months. Joining The Atlantic in late 2017, Executive Chef Will Holland has worked in Michelin-starred restaurants since the age of 18 and has appeared on numerous national television programmes including as guest chef on Saturday Kitchen.

We had a 3 night stay at the Atlantic at the end of November and had the pleasure of eating in the Ocean Restaurant every night. We were a group of 4 and ate from the Market and a la Carte menus and cannot rate the food highly enough. Our evenings started in the bar and loved the great choice of cocktails and gins, imaginatively paired with varying tonics. For those not drinking alcohol (not us on this occasion!), I noticed a good choice of non alcoholic cocktails. Once our meals began we relished every amuse bouche and found every course a journey of discovery in taste sensations. In chatting to one of the staff we found out he had previously worked at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, a restaurant I have been very fortunate to eat in a few times and here at the Ocean Restaurant, the new chef Will Holland has, in my opinion created the same exceptionally high standards in food and service.

We have been many times over the years but this was one of the best. Saturday night we stayed over and enjoyed the first Taster Menu of new Exec chef Will Holland. Every course was delicious and the menu flowed beautifully. We asked new Sommelier Matthew to select wine for each course and when he said that some may seem a little crazy he wasn't wrong but he obviously has great taste as they matched perfectly. Cannot fault any aspect of service, food and wine. Treat yourself to something special.

From the reviews you can see that the restaurant has has a difficult time with Mark Jordan leaving and the new chef Will Holland arriving. He's only been at the helm for 4 weeks but every thing is taking shape. I went in for lunch and was offered a 3x3 menu, choice 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 sweets. The choice was good and I had no difficulty in making a decision and on the main a variation as I'm fussy! The food was wonderfully presented and tasted delicious. I did look at the evening menu and that to looked great with a Market Menu and an A La Carte all supported with a comprehensive wine list. If I have a negative it's that the restaurant was empty, just three tables in use, so the ambience was not great. Look forward to returning for dinner! Lunch 3 course £27.

Our experience at Ocean restaurant was excellent throughout.
We arrived for lunch looking like drowned rats, having decided to walk from the Corbiere lighthouse, without checking the weather forecast in enough detail! We were welcomed warmly, with staff rushing out with umbrellas and helping with wet clothes.
The service in the restaurant was superb; they created a relaxing atmosphere whilst ensuring we were well looked after.
The food was most beautifully presented and tasted fantastic.
A great way to spend a wet Monday lunchtime.

We understand that there is a new team in place. Keep working at the details and you will get there!
Ambiance was really nice despite the full Atlantic gale outside. The whole place was clean and comfortably furnished with some interesting artwork. Piano bar was nice. Dining room is well laid out with white linen on the tables. All of the food was presented on plates with no roofing slates or floorboards in sight, which is a good start.
The simple menu is a good idea for a new venture. My scallops with salt cod was cooked perfectly but spoiled by a cold plate. The venison was cooked perfectly but I would have enjoyed more vegetables. The first amuse bouche didn't quite work (the beautiful clean taste of parsnip was drowned by the other ingredient): I don't know what the second was as I couldn't understand what the waitress's accent. Flavours and textures of the apple were fantastic. The chocolate was demolished in no time.
Good food. Staff trying hard. As the new team settles in, some of these niggles will disappear.
