“4th visit. Absolutely brilliant”

our 4th visit to Ocean Walk, definately the best Bed and Breakfast in Jersey. This was my 34th visit to Jersey, and Maz cannot do enough for you. Rooms were spotlessly clean and great breakfasts cooked by Maz and served by Rachel. One of the very few places in Jersey which allowed small well behaved dogs and Alfie our corgi loved his stay, even making an unplanned visit to say "Good Morning" to Maz! Will definately be back again as soon as possible.

A basic B&B
My Husband has stayed here on several occasions and has always rated it on cleanliness and value.
Spotless, cleanliness, very friendly and helpful staff.
A little dated in decor but decorating and cleaning obviously undertaken on a regular basis.
It would not be for someone looking for up to the minute luxurious fittings but was very comfortable and food was of good quality.
Location is excellent - easy walk to St Hellier and St Aubins harbour with excellent choice for evening meals. Opposite the beach, we had a fantastic view across the bay.
Outstanding value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

Good private car park at rear, very welcoming and helpful staff. Lots of information and guidance on where to eat and what to visit.
Room clean, tidy and well presented although a bit tight (particularly the shower room) hand basin positioned in bedroom.
Beautiful sea view, shortage of electrical points for phone charger, hair drier etc. Good quality linen and supportive bed but pillows a bit too soft.
Breakfast cooked to order, quite nice with choice of cereal, fruit juice, tea and coffee.
Over all very good service and very reasonably priced, would seriously consider staying there gain when visiting Jersey.

Room Tip: Rooms at front give beautiful sea view but the road outside is very busy with traffic.

This guest house was great. We were at the back of the house so it was really quiet. Had single rooms which were spotlessly clean with great attention to detail. Very personal welcome with personal addressed welcome note in the room. Very stylish decor which made the stay very special and comfortable.Very accommodating owner and staff with great breakfast choice and service.

Would recommend this to everyone going for a trip to Jersey..

The bus into St Helier runs right in front of the accommodation making travel easy if you have no car.

We recently stayed in this b&b. Owner was pleasant. Upon arrival, we had difficulty parking the car due to such a small confined area. Reversing proved a challenge and we always had to take our time. Inadequate sized portions for breakfast, i.e. 1 slice of bacon, a few mushrooms. Continental consisted of very small pieces of french bread, a few tiny sized pieces of cheese and ham, plus croissants placed very cleverley in a small basket. Room was clean but had one socket. Shower cubicle was too tight and not enough room to turn round. Room was also too small, bed was comfortable and we kept accidentally knocking our legs on the side of the bed whilst we tried to get round the sides. Noise from road was the worst thing and although we shut the windows it then became too warm. Would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Remember to get a room with AC and stay in room which is not sea-facing

All in all, Ocean Walk offers exceptionally good value for money. My family had 3 rooms booked for our stay and all were spotlessly clean and tidy.
I had a single room and it had everything I needed, ok, so the space in the bathroom was tight but you get what you pay for. It was exceptionally clean and well presented.
For what we needed, it was absolutely perfect.
Great breakfast as well.

Would happily recommend this to someone who doesn't want to fork out for expensive Jersey hotel prices!

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room at the back as the property is very close to a busy main...

Let me first start by saying there is nothing technically wrong with the B&B - the rooms are clean, owner is superficially pleasant and proximity to town is good. We chose it over others, based on reviews here. To secure our booking I was asked for a credit/debit card - normal practise in many cases. The room we were getting was the last room available and sea-facing, therefore came with a £10 supplement. We decided to go over our budget, given the good reviews.

On arrival we were met by a seemingly pleasant Maz, who asked how long we were staying and what were planning on doing. I said it wasn't sure as we may stay one day or two, and move around. Upon that, I was told, with a giggle that she'd already taken full payment up front! This was very sneaky - nothing was mentioned on the phone at time of booking that full payment would be taken. Also, what we weren't told was that the room was literally 3 metres away from the main A road and so both noise and pollution from passing cars was an issue. We couldn't keep our windows open but closed meant it was stuffy (and the double glazing isn't great at stopping the noise).

When I asked if we could move room to face away from the road the next day, I was told the B&B was full and so I said we may move if the noise was too much, in which case I would require a refund for the night which we would not stay. I was told there are no refunds. Again, the cancellation policy should be clearly explained at time of booking. We therefore had to stay. Nevertheless we bought some ear plugs and decided to make the best of it.

For breakfast, we turned up at 09:15 as were promptly told off by Maz - saying we'd just made it and another 10 seconds and we would not have gotten breakfast. I pointed out that the breakfast menu showed breakfast was served until 09:30 and in the bedroom the letter addressed to me said 09:20. She then proceeded to say that as it was so late she could only do fried eggs. I said that wouldn't do and this became an issue. Although we resolved it, with us getting a lesser portion, it left us feeling more like we were doing her a favour by staying there.

On reading some of the other poor and terrible reviews, I note there are similar experiences about inflexibility. Pity, as this place, even with the noise, could be a lovely experience if the owner made a bit more effort to be flexible for her customers and also, genuine.
