There are two parts here. Room superb, spacious, lovely views over the gardens to the sea, a nice sitting area outside. Enjoyed the indoor pool and jacuzzi however the view from the windows over the entrance road seemed a little odd. But let's say 5 stars for the room and sleep experience. Now the downside - the hotel restaurant, Ocean is supposedly a Michelin 1*. Let's be clear this is in no way a Michelin 1* experience. From two meat dishes, one fish and one vegetarian on the menu I opted for the duck, only to be informed after finishing the starter and having a bottle of red wine open that the duck was no longer available - what!!! Michelin star - I think not. I opted for the only real choice remaining for me - beef, and was presented with, let's face it - a very average "Sunday dinner" - two slices of roast beef, a tough roast potato, a carrot and a piece of cauliflower floret. Nice gravy - yes I mean that purposefully - but that was the best thing about it. The staff attitudes were strange, they were not bad in any way but the overwhelming impression is that they were embarrassed in what they were serving. This is not a Michelin standard restaurant, so don't be fooled. Many of the wines on offer were very average but ridiculously overpriced. Summary - I would stay here again for the room, but think carefully before dining in the restaurant - it is extremely poor value, not a good experience and the food is very average hotel fayre. In view of what they are charging it is very disappointing. Smacks of owners don't care - you are there for their purpose, not the other way around.

My husband, son and I stayed in adjoining rooms at the hotel. We were made to feel so welcome and were so well looked after. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were a treat and the food at Ocean was magnificent. One of the best places I have stayed and a credit to Jersey. Thank you!

We stayed here for four days in April and it was superb. So rarely do you enter a hotel and the first impressions exceed expectations, but here that is exactly what happened. The welcome was warm and friendly and the views from the reception as you enter are breathtaking! The service throughout our stay was impeccable and the food was excellent. We had one lunch, three breakfasts and one dinner and they were all exceptional. The dinner in the Michelin star restaurant was the best we had on the island, the service was faultless and the atmosphere is one of contemporary elegance without the stuffiness so often associated with Michelin starred restaurants. We would definitely recommend it and will return in 2018. Thank you.

My wife and I stayed at the Atlantic for a four-day break over last weekend. This is a beautiful hotel, well appointed, in a beautiful setting. Everything is sparkling and the staff are all very attentive and pleasant.

However, nothing is perfect and we encountered the following disadvantages which did not spoil our break - far from it - but are worth noting.

There is no air conditioning, just a silent ceiling fan in the bedroom, and patio doors can be opened but no opening window so one would not want to leave the doors open when going out. There was no clock in the room but one was made available when requested.

Breakfast was good but the need for guests to queue to use the two slow old-fashioned toasters was rather stupid. The coffee and butter provided for each table were inadequate and we always had to ask for more. This was willingly produced but it should have been unnecessary to ask each day. Service was excellent except on Sunday when, apparently, they had only one novice in the kitchen, and no hot breakfast was produced for anyone for over half an hour. Everyone just sat waiting. Extras on the breakfast menu were ridiculously priced but we had no need to order any.

We did not dine in the restaurant for lunch or dinner because the menu was very restricted, especially for people who do not eat shellfish.

Despite the above, it was a lovely break and we would consider going to the Atlantic again.

My wife and I and I have just returned from a four day luxury break. From the moment we arrived a young porter was there to take our bags. We had arrived an hour early and were given complimentary drink until our room was ready. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who engage with you if and when you want it. The Michelin star dining was superb. The location of the hotel on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic is breath taking. We had a wonderful time, were made to feel very special and will be returning again.
