“Quiet retreat with all you need to relax”
Reviewed 15 July 2011

First time to jersey so I booked this off the Internet based on price and description. On arrival my taxi driver told me it was a Methodist hotel without alcohol this wouldn't have bothered me as I was only using it as a base however on arrival I discovered it was mow under new management and with a bar. The new team cannot do enough to help and are a fountain of knowledge, the outside pool is heated and the views to die for. All meals are excellent. My first room was a little cramped but ingrid happily gave me another room. The location is isolated although however an hourly bus is virtually outside. I would stay here again for rest and relaxation

My wife and I arrived to an afternoon tea after being shown our room, that was a nice touch and very much needed.
We had a sea view roon, ground floor, but lovely and quiet with the birds for company.
Our room was modern, well equipped, and en-suite, the tap needed a washer, but out of a weeks holiday, ... that's not bad for faults.
We have stayed at The Highlands at least four times before in the past years.
It was originally a Christian hotel, so we wondered how it would change.
Not to worry, we were well blessed by the staff who are, friendly, exceptional, and professional, reception are brilliant.
If we wanted quiet times, we found spots to sit and relax, read. or pray, the Tower Lounge is ideal.

The food was good, with the Chef receiving honours for his Celery and Stilton soup, it was simply the best that I have ever tasted.
The evening bar time is interesting, people gather and exchange about their days activities.
We reccomend the hotel unreservedly, it's ideal for those who are looking for peace, cliff walking, as a touring base, or simply to get away for a rest like us.

Highly recommended! We wanted a hotel away from the bustle of life and discovered Highlands with coastal footpaths from it in all directions and superb views. The new management has gathered a fantastic staff ensuring an enjoyable stay with personal attention. Clean and comfortable, good food, lovely pool. The sunset from the Tower lounge is out of this world.
