Our first visit to Jersey and the Windmills - we brought my mother for a short break. The coveted sea view rooms were all taken, so we had two rooms together at the side of the hotel. These were quiet, clean and attractively furnished.. When I found the thick duvet to be too hot ,I was given a top sheet and light blanket to put on the bed the second night , which was much more comfortable.
The great thing about this hotel is its location, overlooking the beautiful St. Brelades Bay.The views from the terraces and public rooms are breathtaking- the weather prevented us from enjoying this to the full, but it is a great place to relax with a drink and a good book.
We had dinner each evening. The menu was varied ,the food well presented and served by efficient friendly staff. Breakfast was also very good.
The downside was there was no place to walk from the hotel for an easy stroll - although the beach looks close, the way to it is down a winding hill, and steep on the way back. Be aware of this if you are not up to the climb.
We enjoyed exploring the island by car and saw some lovely scenery, but it seemed a bit "end of season" with several attractions already closed. Will come the beginning of September next time.More
