“Windmills Hotel, St Brelade”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

We stayed at Windmills Hotel for a long weekend (4 days) for a lovely May wedding at St Brelades Church. Our first visit to Jersey, which I am sure will not be the last. The hotel was lovely, a pleasant surprise and surely deserves to be more than a 3 Star Hotel. We were made to feel welcome from arrival, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The views amazing and rooms comfortable and roomy (though did have sea view suite). The breakfasts were delicious. I cannot comment on kids activities or fitness centre as we did not use either. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Choose a Sea View Suite and wake up to amazing views every day.

Our first time to Jersey and certainly now not our last..... if you are looking to holiday in Jersey...look no further than The Windmills Hotel. When we return, we will not stay anywhere else!!.... the hotel is in a perfect spot, on the hill overlooking St Brelade's Bay with amazing views. We stayed in Room 4... lovely apartment room - very clean, spacious and tremendous views of the bay. It is a very friendly hotel... many of the staff in the restaurant are of Eastern European origin.... all extremely friendly and welcoming. We ate in the hotel restaurant - delicious!! and the bar caters for everything you need. We loved our holiday in Jersey and 100% would not want to stay anywhere else other than Windmills Hotel!

Room Tip: We recommend Room 4

We have stayed at the Windmills every year since 2008, always the last 2 weeks in September, between 8 & 11 days, depending on flights. On entering the car park, our cares & worries just disappear, its like returning home & being with your extended family. From the laundresses & domestics to the front of house staff, (Monica & co.). Everyone is extremley friendly & nothing is too much trouble. I have a dairy intolerance, so drinks & mealtimes can be very stressful for me. I explained this to the reception staff on our very first visit & they advised me to speak to Monica in the resturant, which i did. From that day they have provided me with & advised me on "dairy free" meals, i.e. vegetables with no added butter or sauces, they also use skimmed milk when neccessary, (cappaccino & scrammbled egg). Believe me when you are unable to eat worry free, it can really spoil your day/holiday & having to ask all the time about what ingrediants they use, can leave you feeling ashamed & fed up. We have stayed in a lot of hotels up & down the UK plus visited resturants/cafes. None have been able to cater for my needs. I end up with a plain salad & black coffee or toast & marmalade. So believe me when you find a "gem" you don't drop it. I love seafood (lobster) & their chef goes all out to provide me with non-dairy dips! I can't praise the chef, Monica & all the staff enough. Don't worry if you are not able to have a seaview room because believe us, the dining room, lounge, bar, patio & gardens all have the same view, so why stay in your room when you can have a cream tea, (hubby) & a glass of pimms (me), on the patio & meet some very interesting & lovely people. We are both in our early 40's & have no family, so we prefere to holiday during school term time. If you are prepared to socialise, then the wealth of knowledge & laughter that you find at The Windmills is priceless. Since our first visit, we have met several wonderful couples, whom we arrange to meet up with every year. Thank you Jane & Steve for finding & keeping such wonderful staff, in a beautiful hotel & location. Love your refurbishments this season.

Room Tip: A seaview room is paradise.

We stayed at Windmills Hotel for a four day break in the first week of October. From the minute we arrived the staff were nothing but friendly and welcoming. We arrived late after dinner had finished and after being shown to our spotlessly clean room we were brought a meal to our room. The whole stay was superb. The staff were lovely, friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble, the food was excellent, a very good choice and plentiful. The views from the hotel are stunning. We will most definitely be returning next season ..probably twice... A huge THANK YOU ...

Not wishing to repeat what everybody else has said I shall keep it short and sweet. Our self catering apartment, seemed to have everything a family needed, although it was not used by us on a self catering basis - as we stayed on a Half Board basis. The view from this apartment was absolutely heaven from the approx 20 foot balcony, as it overlooked the garden, swimming pool and sea in the distance.

Why have I not given FULL marks you may ask yourself. Well, only one point disappointed i.e. the rather portioned controlled dinners (not the breakfasts). No complaints regarding the quality nor choice, merely the small quantity particularly with regard to vegetables. We are not big eaters but do regard a small dish of mixed vegetables to be shared between two people to be rather inadequate. A dish each would have been more acceptable. Having said that, what was served was delicious and we had a very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Do pay extra for a sea view - you won't regret it

This was our second visit to The Windmills this year and they get better every time.
The staff are all very helpful and friendly and look after you very well.
The hotel is clean and tidy and in a great position looking out to sea.
We hope to go again next year as well.

Room Tip: Book one at the front with a balcony.

Just spent a memorable week at the windmills hotel. We had a room with a balcony overlooking St Brelades Bay which was perfect. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the meals were very good with quick efficient service. The rooms were generally made up during breakfast. I cant fault anything wrong with this hotel and would give it 10 out of 10 in every department.
