“we've booked to go back next year”
Reviewed 2 August 2010

Really enjoyed the stay at the Biarritz - it is great to have a hotel where the children can roam about a bit and you don't have to worry, very family friendly. Beautiful garden, play area and access to the beach in one minute or less if you're 8 years old which can't be beaten. Great entertainment for children (ours aged 8 and 4) and food pretty good all week on half board. You could stay on the beach all week if so inclined though the bus services are very good and we went to St Helier one day catching the bus right outside the hotel. We really enjoyed Crab Shack on St Brelades Bay for lunches and a glass of wine occasionally as restaurant at hotel is unlicensed. We thought the Durrell Zoo was very expensive for the experience, but the Jersey War Tunnels are well worth a visit. We are looking forward to going next year for two weeks this time and we think it isn't necessarily cheap but it is good value for money.

very pleasant and helpful staff
food was of good quality and well-presented
pleasantly surprised to be allocated a suite, room was comfortable with all the facilities we needed
location was excellent, quiet, close to beach and to public transport
free parking at the hotel
beautiful gardens in the hotel grounds
pity about the noisy seagulls in the early morning !
plenty of entertainment for kids but not for adults, eg table quizzes, etc

Hotel was faultless in everything. We travelled with our three young children, all under 7 years, and they were catered for in every way. They especially loved the variety of children's activities available in the evenings. The food was wonderful and again the children's buffet each evening was perfect. The hotel staff were so friendly and polite and made such an effort to make you feel welcome.
Will definitely be going back but it isn't a cheap holiday and the island itself is very expensive.

We are just back from a week at the Biarritz. I had been before when I was wee and was eagerly looking forward to visiting again. Not much had changed structurally- but the decor was a lot fresher and brighter than I remember.

Room was excellent- a wee balcony that let us look out over the bay. Staff all very helpful and friendly

Food great- good variety and choice and superb for kids- a kids buffet was on most nights to keep them happy!

Great kids entertainment- balloon/magician, family movie, bowls, sand castle competition.

Really very happy with my stay and can't wait to go back. Rates aren't too bad when you factor in you get a 3 course dinner every night. Location great- close to what I think is the nicest bay on the Island. The ambience of the hotel is very much family run - I think I locked the door of my room twice! Although I count myself young (30) I wouldn't be in a rush to recommend it to single friends in my age group as there is a high proportion of elderly guests. Of the elderly guests, most have been coming for years and years which shows they are happy!

As a solo lady this family-run hotel made me feel so welcome and valued throughout my far too brief stay. The quality of the food and attendant service was of an extremely high standard and my lovely balconied en suite room was both comfortable and well appointed with glorious views of the bay. I went on several of the varied day trips on offer and also enjoyed the relaxing evening events and the in-house cafe when not discovering all the delights and beauty of this exquisite bay - I cannot wait until my next visit!

I was in a lovely room with a sitting area and balcony which had beautiful views over St Brelades Bay. The staff were very professional and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent with a good choice each day. The hotel is set on a hill with a short walk to a lovely sandy beach for swimming. Local buses stop outside the hotel making it easy to explore the island.

Thanks again to all the staff on behalf of my mother and brother for another great week at the Biarritz. Excellent food and good to meet up with old friends again. Mum enjoyed her surprise birthday cake and the impromptu singing by the Norwegians.

This was our 8th year of visiting and hopefully 2011 will make it number 9.
