So far 3rd night out of 5 break gone and cannot believe some of the negative comments; for starters there IS a lift. Breakfast lovely, plentiful and certainly on the plus side we were asked if we would like MORE toast :-) Hotel fabulously comfortable and deserves at least 3* rating, close to beach and lovely walk towards Gorey at bottom of road, close to St. Helier town centre via walk through Snow Hill car park at top of top to left (give claustrophobic tunnel a miss). We had lovely room, not at all noisy on front of hotel with great roomy shower, with plenty of tea and coffee, NOT a negative but do remember to take own shampoo and shower gel. Lastly the lovely large comfortable lounge with huge flat screen television deserves a mention. Great hotel, great staff and would NOT hesitate to return.

We have just returned from Jersey and stayed at the Runnymede hotel. Although only a 2 star the whole place was very clean and well looked after, just what you want from a b&b when you're going to be out and about all the time.
Breakfasts were good and generous portions, and they were very accommodating of our early start when getting the ferry to France for the day.
Location was a
Ideal for easy access to St Helier whilst being close to the beach.

Although a two star hotel,it is very clean and comfortable.Great plentiful breakfast and delicious dinner choice.Has a nice quaint feel to it,with pleasant efficient staff. We got this trip with our Avios points flying direct from Edinburgh to Jersey- all we had to pay was £133! Had a great time exploring Jersey by bus and foot!

We have just returned from the Runnymede Court Hotel. Its a beautiful old and beautifully kept hotel in a great location and brilliant value for money. Our room was bright and airy and very clean. The staff are friendly and very helpful and breakfast was great. As in previous reviews, going through the tunnel will take you to Liberation Square but if you come out of the hotel, turn left and keep waking up the road this will also take you to the Square via the shopping/cafe area.

Room Tip: We were in Room 109 at the back of the hotel and it was great.

In need of a little tlc, room could do with a lick of paint on the louvre doors and the carpet could do with a shampoo but apart from that it looks ok. Only problem is it is next to the lift so avoid 209. Also when it rains the drumming on the plastic skylight in the shower room is annoyingly loud.
The greeting by the receptionist on arrival couldn’t have been more friendlier and she was more than helpful with directions.

Breakfast between 8am and 9am Dinner 6:30pm to 7:00pm.

Tried the evening meal and wished I hadn’t
Start options
A) Homemade Pork Liver Pate served with Cumberland Sauce and HOT toast
B) Homenade Cream of Cauliflower Soup
Opted for A, no sooner had I made my choice than it was delivered up in front of me. I doubt if the pate was homemade, the Cumberland sauce was tasteless (a bit like chilli dip without the chilli) and the hot toast was perhaps hot an hour prior to serving but when I got it the toast was cold and rubbery.

Mains options
a) Oven Baked Chicken Chasseur in a tomato, mushroom, shallots and white wine sauce.
b) Grilled Trout Amandine with brown butter and parsley topped with almonds
c) Choice of omelettes
d) Cold meat salad
All served with new potatoes, sauté potatoes, Broccoli and Sweetcorn.
Opted for A. The chicken was tender and moist, the sauce was forgettable, the new potatoes were excellent, the sauté potatoes were hard and the broccoli needed a hammer and chisel.

Desserts
a) Sticky toffee pudding
b) Creme caramel
c) Mixed fruit salad
Opted for A. Not toffee pudding but syrup and extremely sweet, cake slightly dry but cream compensated.
Had to secure a glass of wine from the bar during the meal as none of the waitresses asked but they seemed too busy making sure we were all served by 7pm. When I requested a Cabernet Sauvignon I was offered a Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay. I opted for a Merlot, the guy behind the bar seemed puzzled at this but I prefer red wine and preferably a Cab-Sav.
Decent coffee.
Conclusion – the staff work very hard and very fast, they take your order verbally, never write it down, so the only way they can do it is by transferring pre-plated meals from the kitchen to the table. My mistake was for opting for option A all the time and also not going to the White Horse down the road where they do some brilliant food and a decent red wine.
Also had the resident "queen bee" hovering, I'd obviously sat at someones' table so they had to sit elsewhere and it had upset the hierarchy.

Breakfast was palatalbe, usuasl cereal and cooked breakfast, toast was warm and fresh. Fruit juices on offer and the coffee hit the spot.

This is obviously where the older generation go when Eastbourne, Bournemouth and Paignton are full. Apart from a young lady staying I would say all the other guests were older than my 60 years.

Room Tip: beware of rooms near the lift as you can hear it quite clearly in the nearby rooms. bit of a walk in...
