We found this place from various recommendation lists, but experienced the worst night eating out.

The chairs are designed to keep customers uncomfortable so that they stay the shortest time possible as space is at a premium.

We booked a table and arrived a little early (round 7pm). Waited for 15 minutes to be served, drinks brought to the table after 5 minutes of ordering and the staff accidentally knocked one of the drinks over, spilled 1/3 of a bottle but not replaced, no apologies were given. Starters came 15 minutes later, the amount and size of the sizzling prawns were unbelievably small, the crab cakes tasted like they have been frozen. The main course have to wait for 30 minutes and the side dish not come with it, part of the mixed seafood dish - the sea bass and prawns - tasted like from the frozen compartment and no better than from a supermarket. Certainly not what one would have expected to be served by such a highly recommended establishment. We can only conclude that either we were unlucky or previous recommendations were based on staff no longer present - judging by the reaction of our waiter in the Merchant House (same money) we are not the only ones to express an unfavourable opinion!

Not sure if it was the bank holiday week, but unfortunately slow service will be my overriding memory. The menu does warn about a wait - fair enough. But over an hour is too long. A real shame as the food itself seemed good. Portions are large. Will probably give the place a second chance the next time I'm in Jersey.

We were absolutely blown away by the food at Roseville Bistro. The sea food was just delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is also very romantic and has a lovely atmosphere.
We had a fantastic dining experience.

Cannot wait to come here again and again. This is my new favourite restaurant.

Thank Jo W
