“Probably Jersey's Best Hotel ! in my opinion...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

Just returned from a 7 day break in Jersey - 2 nights in a 30ft boat in " the great storm !" and 5 nights in the Pomme D'Or. I would endorse EVERY positive recommendation about this hotel in previous postings! From check-in to check-out, it was just perfect.
We've been coming to the island for 14 years now, and have stayed in most of Jersey's hotels in that time, but this was our first time in the Pomme D'Or. We'd been in the café bar before though and always found it good value. The staff at Reception were pleasant, treated us like people, not just another faceless guest, and ensured everything was quickly dealt with. Our room was on the 4th floor, just an ideal room, comfy bed, TV, lots of biscuits/tea/coffee/ etc, big wardrobe space and lots of drawers -brilliant! Sometimes you go to hotels and there is just a trendy "shelf".
Everything worked, the bathroom was spotless and ample for what was required, and I agree about on opening window from a previous post - really useful function to have, to let in fresh air. No noise issues - we were at the rear above a pub/club and pool hall but were never disturbed.
Meals are amazing ! The breakfasts are to absolutely die for - every possible combination of lovely food, and you could eat masses and then not require a lunch!
We did eat at night in the Harbour Room, it was a carvery and superb with lots of choice. The staff are attentive and faultless. We also ate one night in the Cafe' Bar, and found the food there to be delicious, good value, and special mention again to the staff who were cheerful and pleasant and seem to enjoy serving us - how refreshing is that!
Special mention to Duncan the Bar Manager too, an interesting and chatty staff member who made our evening in the lounge memorable but at all times was efficient and professional, with his eye on other customers even though we were monopolising his time.
I'm trying to think of possible negatives but I just can't - we will definitely choose this hotel over all the others in the island when we return next year - it's great value, central, wonderful for meals, comfy, clean, full of facilities and a credit to the management who run it so well.
Absolutely happy to be contacted by anyone who wants more information, and as I said, we've been in a LOT of others...............

we had a lovely 4 day break in this very comfortable hotel. very friendly and efficient staff, from reception, bar staff, restaurant staff and a very helpful maintenance man who came to our rescue with a pair of bolt cutters when we realised we had left the key to the lock on our suitcase at home. The room very clean and comfortable the only down side was due to it being at the back of the hotel we were kept awake by the noise from the karaoke bar on Friday night despite the double glazing. the breakfast was extremely good with an excellent choice from a well stocked buffet with something for everybody.

Stayed at The Pomme d'Or in St Heiler in October, very nice hotel, friendly staff and breakfast was excellent. The room was spotlessly clean and very pleasant, we had an executive room but it was on the side of the hotel, looking into offices, so if you want a room with a view, probably best to request one. This hotel is really lovely but is in a very noisy part of town, the street cleaners start work at 6am, and there is constant road noise, but if you can get used to this it is worth it.

The wife and I have stayed at the Pomme d'Or Hotel many times before but it has been a little more than a year since our last visit.
All the staff are still just as courteous and friendly as before. The reception staff were efficient during check-in and check-out, with no problems.
We had a free upgrade to an executive room, thanks to the travelling pen, which is a good offer.
The executive room was nice, clean, and well laid out. There can be some noise from the street below when the clubs turnout but we both had very good night’s sleep on all the nights of our visit.
We had one problem, the room mini safe did not work but this was fixed and the manager did offer to put any valuables in their main safe until it was.
Though the buffets are still good, the Harbour Room restaurant menu has improved with additional meal choices available, cooked to order. I do like their buffet breakfasts with so much to choose from.
All round good hotel in a good town location.

Ideally located near the harbour and a minutes walk from the bus station- very easy to get to and from the airport without needing a taxi. All buses start from here so great for trips out. Tour buses also go from outside the hotel or very near by in summer, also the little road train. Lovely hotel, efficient receptionist who are happy to help with directions etc. Comfortable rooms, I think you have to upgrade to get a room overlooking the harbour. Breakfast was vast and plentiful, couldn't resist the porridge made with Jersey milk even though it was hot weather! I would be reluctant to use any other hotels in Jersey on future visits as it ticked all of our boxes..

Room Tip: Probably need to upgrade to get harbour views

Just got back from a 2 day stay at the Pomme d'or Hotel in St.Helier. Have never bothered commenting before but we felt we had to write one this time as everything about our stay was perfect. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out everything was perfect. We had room only and were intending to eat out but after eating in the Harbour Room on the first night, we were looked after so well that we ate there on the second night too. The maitre de was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble and that goes for all the other waiters and chefs in the restaurant. The food was excellant on both nights; the first night a carvery and the second was an italian evening. The breakfast buffet had anything and everything you could think of.
The rooms were spotlesssly clean as was the rest of the hotel.
The hotel location was perfect - central for both shopping and the bus station/tour buses.
Would definately stay here again and not hesitate in recommending this hotel to others.

Room Tip: We stayed in 2 x standard twin rooms which were well stocked with kettle/tea&coffee etc. Ideal r...

Perfect location - but get a room overlooking Liberation Square and the harbour if you can. We booked a Premier room and it's fab - very spacious, comfortable and luxurious. Fantastic buffet breakfast, everything fresh and tasty, and the buffet dinner on Sunday night was a treat too. The staff are all friendly and efficient. The windows in our room offer good soundproofing but can be opened a couple of inches for fresh air - something not all hotels offer. The room is also fully air-conditioned, although it's not obvious how to switch between heat and chill (the secret is to press and hold the temp down and speed buttons together and it'll scroll through the options). Based on other people's recommendations, we requested two single duvets (which are down, btw).

Parking is ok if carefully planned - use pre-paid one-hour tickets, stay out most of the day and then hopefully get a space in the Esplanade long stay overnight - it's just a few minutes' walk away and there are usually plenty of spaces after 5 or 6pm.

Our first visit to Jersey, so can't compare this hotel with any other, but it's hard to see where it could improve.

Room Tip: Premier double room is the one to go for.
