I've stayed in many 5* Hotels around the world and the service at this hotel out does most of them. The staff are attentive, helpful and polite - not a sour face to be found.
I stayed on the 5th floor and overlooked that back of the hotel, but I was staying to look out of the window the whole time.
It's clean, functional and although a little dated in the decor, it makes for a great business hotel.
Excellent breakfast on the "all you can eat" buffet, lunch in the coffee shop a little over priced and the evening buffet in the Restraunt had plenty of choice.
I'm returning to Jersey at the beginning of February and will be staying again.

Room Tip: Try and avoid the 5th floor around the 520's... There's a constant hum from the AC units in...

A lovely hotel to stay in without being big and homogenised. The staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. The food in the cafe bar was varied and had good menu choices. Great that it was open in the evening for lighter meals when one doesn't need the formality of the main dining room. We were fortunate to get a free upgrade on the room which was very comfortable, clean and had all the necessary teas, coffee, iron, hair dryer etc that one would expect. Free wifi access throughout the hotel is a real bonus. Would definitely return there for either business or pleasure.

We have just returned from our third visit to this hotel that is full of history. We stayed in the suite which is the size of a small flat and offers terrific views of Liberation Square and the harbour. Very close to the town centre and many restaurants. Breakfast in the hotel is first class. The Saturday 'Gills and 'Grills' menu was outstanding with numerous buffet style starter and desserts on offer. The hotel is exceptionally clean and the staff always smiling, happy and willing to help. This really is a hotel that offers everything for a relaxed and extremely enjoyable break. No complaints just absolute praise for an outstanding hotel.

Tracey W

Room Tip: Choose a room at the front of hotel to enjoy the views of Liberation Square and the harbour.

All you need for a perfect stay, although we did have to pay for a front room overlooking the harbour it was well worth it. We spent 4 days in this hotel at the end of October which happened to be in the middle of Jersey's 'Tennerfest'. Struck lucky :-). The hotel itself is lovely with great history to it and in a perfect location for everying. The staff couldn't be more helpful if they tried. The restaurant.. superb, the breakfast... still trying to work all what we ate off! The bartenders... loved them... big hello to Duncan, you are divine. I know people have written reviews and they have been disappointed but can't understand this to be honest but everyone has there own opinion. All I can say is we can't wait to go back and I can be very diva-esk (my own made up word).

Room Tip: Well worth paying for an upgrade.

I feel a bit mean marking average but it doesn't quite deserve a very good - A good definitely.

After a horrific ferry journey with an unexpected stop off in Guernsey last minute, the hotel kindly let us cancel the room we had booked for the night at no extra cost. We arrived on what should have been day 2. The receptionist was welcoming enough but it did feel a bit stiff like they do this continually so did not seem 100% genuine. Perhaps after such a great stay in Guernsey (see previous review) the Pomme d'Or had a tough act to follow!

The room was OK, a bit dated and must have been near to the kitchen as it smelt of food when we walked in.

The breakfast was nice, my husband thought it was better when we got down earlier on the 2nd and 3rd morning.

The location is great for St. Helier. You are only a short walk away from the shops and some excellent restaurants.

We went to the swimming pool at the sister hotel which was quite fun but not somewhere you'd want to go without kids. I thought it would be more spa like but as it didn't cost anything we can't grumble.

The parking arrangement is old hat. You have to buy "scratch cards" and mark of the date and times you require parking. Not that convenient but manageable.

2nd visit to Jersey this year - Stayed half board from 04/11/13 - 07/11/13. Good central location to both Liberty Bus Station and shopping centre.
3 course Carvery served - good choice, plentiful and very tasty.
Room nice and clean.
All staff were extremely friendly and hospitable - a credit to you all.
Would definetly recommend.

If you want to stay in town there is plenty of choice, but this was my first time here. Nice hotel, good staff, well equipped and furnished room in a central location. Breakfast is a comprehensive buffet (the smoked salmon was fleetingly elusive on the three days I stayed - I only saw a small portion once and that was quickly snaffled and not replenished).

I would recommend it and I would stay again if I needed to be in town (or, as in this case the rates were far more preferable to my other usual haunt). For my money, I would stay in St. Brelade, but if you want the convenience of town, then the Pomme D'or is a good choice and it also has plenty of character & history.

Room Tip: A harbour view is the best bet, but you will have to pay a premium for it.
