We've recently returned from an excellent long weekend Condor ferry package at the Savoy, a real bargain! There was easy parking in the hotel forecourt, a positive boon, as St Helier parking is a nightmare, and it was a 5 minute walk to the centre. We were given a comfortable front room, good decor, with a lovely balcony, and I can honestly say we heard more occasional noise from next door's TV than we did from traffic outside. Our package included a delicious three course meal (chosen from the full menu) on the first night, with attentive (but not fussy) service. We sampled a bar meal on another evening, and found that equally tasty. Throughout our stay staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming, and we really felt that we had had a thoroughly pampered break, thanks to their obvious hard work. We recommend the Savoy without hesitation.

What can I say? I really cannot fault this hotel at all. Myself and my husband stayed for 2 nights from 4th April. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the staff on reception and our check in was dealt with promptly and efficiently. We were asked if we needed somebody to carry our suitcase to our room but we declined. When we got to the room we were very impressed as to how clean the room was and very spacious! It was on the first floor and overlooked the swimming pool. Plenty of towels were provided, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and personal safe. We had paid for bed and breakfast which was really good value as there was plenty to choose from.........toast, cereal, full cooked breakfast, the staff were always very attentive and extremely pleasant. The hotel is a 10 min walk from the town centre so is in an ideal location for shopping, also plenty of bars and restaurants around the area. we would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is a nice hotel with excellent customer service. Our room was a little small and the heating was not sufficient, so an additional heater was put in which compromised that space a little. But the bed was extremely comfy and the facilities excellent with a nice little gym and pool area. The hotel is also a nice walk from the town when the weather is nice.

We stayed at The Savoy this weekend in the family room with 2 rooms and bathroom. It was a lovely room with excellent facilities, we had 2 problems. After only being in the room for not more than an hour, we came down to reception and the receptionist (who was lovely) apologized but said we were making too much noise and that the people in room 56 (underneath) want to leave the hotel! Admittedly my daughter 8 was skipping in the room and we might have spoken loudly with excitement? This then upset the rest of our stay worrying about upsetting other people! The water was not warm at 4 in afternoon, but it was sorted in an hour!
The staff were very attentive and friendly, the breakfast was excellent, really good food and plenty of selection.
In all it was a great hotel, possibly not the best to have children with you as the floorboards between floors are wooden! But children are made to be welcome!
The value of our stay for the weekend was unbeatable.

Cleanliness - 3/10
Location - 1/10
Breakfast - 4/10
Room - 2/10
WiFi - 0/10
Shower/Bathroom - 0/10

Having Stopped in the Radisson Blu for a few weeks (I work in Jersey) now I booked the Savoy because the family was coming over I looked for somewhere for a change....that was my first mistake. The Radisson cost only a few pounds more but the difference is like another world!

Here is how I explain my rating:

Cleanliness - The room had mold patches in a number of locations, the room did not feel clean and certainly did not look clean with dust patches on wooden draw units and someone else's left over items in the closet. I do expect as a minimum for a room to at least feel like it had been

Location - A picture says a thousand words, but also hides a thousand words!....The hotel is in what we could consider a rough area. The area is not well kept and there are some very tatty looking Buildings around along with run down apartments with big dogs (Some barking all night !). You are also opposite the Police Station, Fire Station and a few doors away from the Ambulance station. Yes, you do hear sirens often!. Not a great area to walk back at night despite what people say. Often young lads are hanging around down the road and I question a walk back from town late in the evening.

Breakfast - Breakfast was ok, not great, just ok. Certain types of Breakfast such as Eggs Benedict require a the payment of a supplement. Also they move the location of the breakfast to different rooms and no signage. If breakfast in the bar area, expect a wait as it is not very big!

Room - The room we had was poorly maintained. The shower was broken and does not stay up making it difficult to shower. The Glass shower door had no splash strip so the bathroom filled with water unless you use a towel to block it. The Shower control was broken and could take up to 5 minutes to actually get hot water to come out. The TV bracket was broken so the TV virtually faces the floor. And for the kids there is only a few channels. Useless!
The room has No AC which I could see being a real issue in the summer months as the Hotel is hemmed in between other buildings and on a major roadway. The Fire Service also do drills across the road.

WiFi/Internet - Off more than it was on, kept asking for a reset but would stay up for no more than 10 minutes and down again. If you rely on WiFI, then forget it!

Shower/Bathroom - As mentioned before, the shower and hot water was a nightmare!. Also the shower was really moldy and the Double glazed window had something strange growing inside it. The towels are Value towels and barely cover you never mind actually drying you. The flooding from the poor fitting Shower door also meant that coming back into the bathroom after you were dressed was a nightmare. Again more towels required for the floor. The Shower door is also fitted on a hinge and dangerous for the kids, in our opinion.

The Walls and floors in the building are also some of the thinnest I have ever seen, you can hear everything from the room above so try and aim for a top floor room. We could not only hear everything our neighbours were saying we heard every footstep and dropped item. It disturbed us constantly and the noisy neighbours we had upstairs really upset us. The Hotel did nothing but make a call which made them quiet for 5 minutes or less!

You will not be greeted by a concierge or offered any help with you bags so if they is an expectation...Forget it.

We have stopped in hundreds of hotels around the world and I can honestly say this is the worse experience we have ever had.

As i mentioned in the title, we booked based on reviews and foolishly only read the first 10 or so reviews. Next time I will be doing a lot more homework. Needless to say I am in a different hotel for the rest of the working week!!

Love you guys

Room Tip: We had a front room balcony had no trouble with road noise

I stay away regularly for business and pleasure and can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have been in for a long time. Customer service from all the staff, nothing was to much trouble. Food breakfast and dinner presentation and taste was amazing. Rooms clean and nicely decorated. My only thing that was missing was a pad and pen in the room, but thats all I can complain about and it really is not worth mentioning, thats how good it was.

Room Tip: I was in room 39 top of stairs, steps are very shallow. Double shower but no bath. The other room...
