We recently stayed for seven nights at the Savoy, all the members of staff that we came in contact with were efficient, friendly, and extremely helpful. The standard of cleaning was also impressive, all public areas were cleaned to a high standard and our room was cleaned thoroughly each day. Our room was well furnished, comfortable and nicely decorated. Sadly the large balcony overlooked a very busy road and the Jersey emergency services, so not very conducive to a quite sleep in the sun. However, the pool and surrounding area was spotless with regular pool side service. Breakfast was very good, with a wide range of options being available.
The restaurant and bar food was pretty good value for money and very well prepared. However, on the chefs’ night off it was all a bit hit and miss. On one evening a “complimentary” chunk of chicken was included in my prawn curry, which was a bit off-putting. The following evening, despite my best efforts 50% the mussels stayed firmly shut. The restaurant manager cheerfully assured that the mussels were fit to eat (he had tried one himself) and that I needed to be much more manlier and force them open, very Faulty Towers. Despite this we would most certainly stay again with the proviso we checked as to who was in the kitchen before ordering a meal.

Dear Mr Johnson,

We thank you for your review regarding your memorable stay with us in August, we value all feedback as its helpful to us in our efforts to improve.

Your remarks regarding your recent stay have been well received by our team, we are glad that you enjoyed your 21st birthday and found the hotel up to the high standards we want for our guests. You mentioned how you enjoyed the Champagne in your room, so I would like to recommend Laurent Perrier Rose upon any future visit, its an excellent bottle, and certainly one of my favourites.

We do hope to have you back some time soon, where we will endeavour to make your next visit even better.

We (a middle-aged couple) stayed here in the last week of July. Staff were excellent. When the taxi company booked by the hotel to take us to the airport let us (and them) down at the last minute, one of the staff drove us to the airport - which is definitely what I would call going the extra mile for your customers.

We didn't have dinner though the restaurant is highly rated. Breakfast was spot on, for both food and service. The bar was nice, if a little pricey as hotel bars often are. There's a jazz night on Fridays, and the musicians were worth hearing the night we were there.

The hotel doesn't have air conditioning, so you have to keep yourself cool the old-fashioned way. We didn't have the windows closed for the entire week we were there. We found it fine, but it was a bit warm from time to time and some people might prefer air conditioning.

We liked the location. It's an easy 10-minute walk to the centre of St. Helier. The hotel is quite near the police station and ambulance depot, so we did hear the occasional siren, but nothing we found intrusive.

I would also say that this isn't really a hotel for children. We saw some families there with teenagers, but it's not really for younger kids. It's just got more of a grown-up vibe.

The only gripe we had was with the WiFi, which was difficult to connect to unless you were in reception (although it did improve a bit after we complained a few times). But that was a minor quibble in an overall experience that was positive.

All in all we liked the hotel and would recommend it.

Dear visitor,

We thank you for your detailed review, we value all remarks and opinions as they helpful to us in our efforts to improve.

I'm glad that my team were able to get you to the airport in time, after the taxi company let us all down. We are currently reviewing which company to recommend to our guests as we wish them to have the best and most reliable service.

In regards to cooling, you are of course right we have no air conditioning, but are now looking into its implementation for our superior rooms and suites (at the very least) in time for next season. The building dates back to 1840 so we are in a difficult position when it comes to retro-fitting aircon, we will however try our best.

I would like to mention that we have had some issues with internet this year, some of which were not our fault, which has led to me even writing to the Jersey Evening Post to complain publicly about our local telecoms provider and their service. The good news however is that we have resolved all the issues (internal & external) and have not had any further comments (as of August) in regards to its reliability or coverage. In addition I would like to say that we have upgraded all our WIFI access points recently to boost the speed/signal in preparation for fibre internet which is scheduled for installation in September, so we look forward to our guests enjoying super fast WIFI (free of charge, of course) later this year.

I thank you again for the feedback, it motivates us to keep improving and working on issues that can improve our guests stay in Jersey.

From check in to check out - the staff, service and food were all excellent! We stayed for 5 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The room was a good size, comfy bed and a great size bathroom with nice toiletries. All very clean and kept lovely by the very friendly chambermaids. We overlooked the pool which was a really nice place to sit in the sun (yes we actually had 5 days of sun!) We ate in the hotel for the jazz evening - and although we didn't like the table we had, the staff moved us without any problem and the meal was absolutely delicious. Its about a 10 minute walk into the main town, which is fine and there are a couple of pubs a bit closer, but the hotel had a nice decking area to sit on if you didn't want to walk far! Would well recommend this hotel.

Good Hotel, Very good breakfast but they start serving from 7am (No good if you are catching an early flight). Pleasant staff and approx 10 min walk from St Helier,

Nice Bar including external area where you could eat /enjoy food from bar menu. Food prices were ok - ranging between £6-7 for a sandwich but main meals were approx £11,00 and were good and the staff were very accomodating if you wanted to change something slightly as you do when you have a 16 yr old dauighter!!!

Overall a very nice hotel

Room Tip: Choose a room on the front - no noise from the swimming pool plant room

Dear Andrew

We thank you for your review, we value all remarks and opinions as they helpful to us in our efforts to improve.

We appreciate your comment that cooked breakfast commences at 7am, but I'm not sure if you are aware we cater for continental breakfast, as room service from 4:30am, simply fill out your breakfast door hanger and place it on the outside of your room before midnight. I apologise if this wasn't clear during your stay with us.

Again allow me to thank you for your remarks, especially regarding Roberto's Jazz bar, its great for the team and myself to know that we are getting things right for our guests. I’m delighted your stay was enjoyable for you and your daughter and we hope to have you back some time soon, where we will endeavour to make your next visit even better.

My Fiance and I stayed here for New Years 2013. Our stay was very pleasant. We came in the New Year period so Jersey itself was quite quiet and weather not so good. Ultimately, residing in the hotel most of the time. Room Service was fantastic, staff pleasant and professional. Breakfast was great and food well cooked. We did not plan anything for New Years, however the staff kindly called our room to invite us for dinner! We really enjoyed our stay and would deffinately stay here again. Thank you to all of the staff!
