“A nice little trip”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Stayed for two nights on a short break trip. The staff were excellent, and nothing was too much trouble, high praise must go to Wayne the Porter, he was everywhere, a man of many roles.Breakfast was superb, set us up for the day, as we did a lot of walking. You have to remember this is quite an old hotel, so there are going to be a few quirks. I felt there were a few little easy fix maintenance tasks that needed to be addressed, we had a bath which was a Jacuzzi type, unfortunately it was all dismantled, that is ok, but if it cannot be used, best replace it with a standard bath/shower, there was also no extraction so the steam took a while to clear, the basin hot tap made quite a lot of noise, you had to turn it to full blast to make it run quiet. Not sure if this is normal in Jersey, but the TV Signal kept dropping out.I have made mention of these small problems, so I hope they can can put this right, overall though a nice place to stay, and recommended.

Room Tip: If you don't stairs, choose a room on the first two floors.

Thank you for your comments following on from your recent short break at the Revere Hotel.
Your specific thoughts about Wayne, one of our hall porters is very much appreciated, he will be delighted to receive such high praise.
The points you have raised about the bathroom and TV signal in bedroom 85 have been noted and the appropriate steps have been taken to improve on these services for the future.
We hope to see you again soon.

Stayed at the revere last week for 3 nights
The staff at this hotel are superb and very friendly making the time there very enjoyable.
We were on half board and the meals were very good both in portions and tastiness.
We had a standard room over looking the front , there was hardly any noise at all from the traffic.
It is a peaceful hotel full of character and charm which makes a change from the ultra modern hotels that seem to be the norm these days.
The sea front and the town and bus station are all within a few minutes walk, so you are very central to everything
We visited the war tunnels which are so full of information and going on the old charabancs bring back lots of memories to us oldies.

On arrival staff very helpful and helpfulness continued throughout the stay. Rooms very nice and wifi available. Each morning at breakfast staff very welcoming and more than happy to help. Great variety of cooked and continental options for breakfast with gluten free accommodated for. Were able to have such fun with the staff, wouldn't let a laugh pass them by! Plenty of space to chill out whether it be to catch up with some telly or in the bar. The bar is very homely and friendly. Within walking distance of the main shopping area and the shore/harbour.

I must start by saying, what a great team. I don't think we have ever come across staff who enjoy their job as much as this team, nothing is too much trouble, from the Manager all the way down, Brilliant!! The Hotel its self as loads of character, very clean, and everyone is aware of things around them making sure everything is tidy. We only stayed B & B the breakfast was lovely, although my Husband missed small bread rolls, but made up for it with the pastries. All in all a great place to stay, if we returned to Jersey we would stay here again, and its close to town and the beach.

Thank you for your review following on from your recent stay at the Revere. I am pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Good to hear your positive comments about the team. I also acknowledge your thoughts to our breakfst and I can confirm that our breakfast products have been reviewed, with your comments in mind. We are now including a selection of 4 different bread rolls which now compliments our very extensive buffet breakfast offering.
Hope to see you back at the Revere in the near future.

Book room 57. Must be 27 x 13.5 feet incl en suite. Many 4 poster beds. The staff were wonderful, most requests supplied within 60 seconds. Never known it bettered. Lovely people. My wife went out and bought them presents (1st time ever). Location 200 metres from the sea front and all main facilities of the capital St Hellier. Short walk to the bus station (£1.80 to anywhere on the island). Buses every 20 minutes until midnight, you don't need a car, £75 for 3 days is the cheapest and parking is an issue. Hotel comfortable, quaint and peaceful. Restaurant excellent. Loved every second. Never written a review before.

Room Tip: room 57. Enormous.

We had a great weekend in Jersey staying here.
The staff and managers are exceptionally welcoming and friendly.
The hotel is a bit of a warren of staircases and corridors, inevitable when a number of buildings are knocked together. The style is a rather mock baronial meets 1970 Athena posters of scantily clad ladies, actually not as bad as it sounds - sort of like the pubs I grew up with 30 years ago. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though in 10 degrees April hot enough at the front of the building to need the windows open all the time - I think this may be a problem in hotter weather.
The restaurant / breakfast area was good and the breakfast excellent with fresh cooked eggs and a good buffet.
There is nearby parking in a multistory. and a 7-11 Costcutter down the road.
There are some excellent local restaurants, but beware - they all shut by 10, so don't leave it too late to eat. Aromas restaurant, almost next door, was our favourite.
Got a great deal through BA holidays making an excellent base to explore the island.

Room Tip: In warm weather, get a room away from the front of the building.
