“More good points than bad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2011

Overall I quite liked this hotel and would be happy to stay there again. Good points -quite a large and well furnished room (although rooms aren't a standard size), convenient car park (probably gets full in summer, but was fine for our visit in April), accepts Tesco clubcard so overall value is not bad, service is good, location is just 5 mins walk from town and restaurants, free wi-fi in the hotel, tea and coffee in the room. Bad points - saturday night was very noisy (there's a club nearby) but other nights it was quiet, breakfast was OK but not great (fairly limited buffet), room could've done with a touch of paint here and there.

Check in staff very efficient and friendly as were the waiters and bar staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was very clean with a really comfortable bed. Had a great nights sleep and enjoyed a delicious breakfast which was very generous and plenty of choice.

Room Tip: book early

Hi there,
Just returned from the Best Western and found the staff to be very friendly.
There are a few things that need updating.
Standard room was ok for our needs and the breakfast was excellent.
We tried the food in the lounge bar grills and snacks and didnt feel it was value for money.
Also the lounge layout was not comfortable for eating as non residents can access the bar area .
Overall adequate for a short stay.

Hotel was centrally located with limited private parking.
Room was comfortable but tv could do with being upgraded.
Bathroom bit old and tired looking.
Food in bar good, breakfast ok too.
Staff helpful and polite at all times.
Will return.

From the minute you arrive, wheather it be for business or pleasure, the Royal and its staff go out of their way to help. Checking in, is done in a very efficent and professional manner and always with a warm smile, no matter what time of day. This calm and efficient manner is carried on through out the whole Team from Michael Bee (General Manger) down. The bedrooms are warm and inviting and equipped with all that is required to make your stay comfortable and gives one the feeling of a home away from home. The restaurants provide a social ambience to enjoy excellent cuisine freshly prepared for you. The bar forms a social gathering area were one can meet and enjoy a quiet drink and a relaxing time. The Royal really does cater for all your needs!

Thoroughly recommend this wonderful hotel, we travelled to jersey to get married and used this hotel for our family and friends to come and stay as well as for the wedding reception. From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent, providing help and guidence for all our requirements. the food was fantastic in both the restaurant and bar seven. We have used the Morvan Family Group in the past and have never been disappointed, this was our first visit to the Royal and cant wait to return
