“A really Great Hotel.”
Reviewed 8 May 2012

We stayed for five nights and were absolutely delighted with every aspect of our stay. First place in every respect must go to the staff who are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They stand out as true professionals. The building has a Georgian style charm about it, yet is thoroughly modern and well laid out. It is reasonably convenient without being in the noisy part of St Helier. It gives off a relaxing ambiance. The food is superb and could not be faulted. We hope to return when time and family permit. We thought it was excellent value for money. You get what you pay for holds true here.

Stayed for five nights from the19 to 23 April. The hotel is in a good location and very convieniant for most things .Our first impression on arrival was that the place was dated in apperance although it has been totally refurbished in the past two years. It has a small but secure car park which is very convieniant if you manage to secure a place. The greeting we recieved from the reception staff was very good, and they continued to be very pleasent and helpfull during the coarse of our stay. The room we were allocated was excellent, very clean with a comfortable bed and tea making facilites and complimentery toiletries included. The only downside being the shower which was totally useless because of the lack of water pressure. The major problem from our point of view was the location of the lift which was remote from our room located at the other end of the building and to get from the lift to the room you had to go along a series of corridors wich had steps and slopes. The food in both the resteraunt and the bar are of the highest quality and the service was immaculate, with nothing being to much trouble. The hotel may not have all the modern facilities of some of the other hotels which we stayed in whilst visiting Jersey in the past but we would certainley recommend it to others. Its an excellent hotel,Well managed with excellent staff and value for money.

Room Tip: Get one as close to the lift as possible

Thank you for your comments. It is always good to know that guests feel that we are a well run hotel. My team work very hard to maintain standards and your comments are appreciated.

We are a traditional hotel, established in the 1840's, and do have a schedule of continual improvement.

In respect of our catering, we have held an AA Rosette for some years and our team of chefs has been consistent for many years. We are pleased that you felt we offer value for money.

Thank you.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your longer stay at our traditional Best Western Royal Hotel.

We offer our AA Rosette 'Seasons Restaurant' along with our more informal Bar 27 venue to provide a real choice of menu. It is always wonderful when guests recognise the quality of our catering which is all freshly prepared on the premises using Jersey Fresh and quality fairtrade ingredients where possible.

Our hotel holds a Bronze Investor in People Award along with a Silver 'Green Tourism Award'. We hope that this will be of interest.

Thank you once again for your kind review.

Stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of April. My husband & I were just on a short break. The hotel is in an excellent location-less than 15 minutes walk to bus station & seafront & in a relatively quiet area. The service from all the staff was excellent-reception, dinner, breakfast & bar. The full english breakfast was among the best we've ever had & the food in both the restaurant & bar was excellent. Our room was very quiet, comfortable & clean. Over the years we have done quite a lot of city breaks around europe & this hotel certainly provides very good value for money. Would certainly book again if we return to jersey.

We thank you for your kind comments and would agree that we are in a quieter part of central St. Helier than many other central hotels. This has helped us to attract much repeat custom to the Royal.

Our team works hard to maintain the standard of our catering and we are delighted that you feel that we provide good value; as a long established hotel this is important to us.

We hope to welcome you back to the Royal at some future point.

Thank you once again.

Returned from this hotel yesterday , I work away on business on a regular basis , this hotel was one of the best

Excellent service from all staff I came into contact with
Very clean and comfortable rooms , well presented with complimentary items
Free view T.V , plenty of space and lots of room for personal items ,
High quality breakfast with all the trimmings

And very importantly a good night sleep , comfy bed and no noise from the hotel or outside ,

I would highly recommend this hotel ,

Customer service is first class at this hotel , and must be a priority for them .

I have stopped at this hotel twice it is in a good location for exploring Jersey. The bar is quite nice with a good selection of drinks. The food supplied is very good. There is a very small Gym ideal if you just want some light exercise, if you like to run i would run outside as you can get to the beach in no time and run along the waters edge.

Thank you for staying with us once again.

We are indeed in an excellent location, near the vibrant high street in Jersey's capital. In addition, St. Helier's brand new high quality Town Park is only metres away from our front door. This has open areas, playground facilities, public art and much more. With summer coming, this makes the Royal an even more popular choice for 2012.

We hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon.
