We had a family room with breakfast for 7 nights. The room was on the top floor. It could be quite noisy outside with the traffic and it was very warm so we did have to have the windows open. The room was clean and pleasant with comfy beds and pillows. We found all of the staff to be very nice, friendly and accommodating. When we first arrived we had to isolate until our covid results and couldn't leave our room, so the hotel gave each of us a snack pack of water, fruit, crisps and chocolate (very nice touch)
We had a lovey breakfast every morning with pastries, cereals, toast and of course a full English! The food was delicious.

Room tip: I've heard to try and avoid the rooms around the terrace area as it can be noisy at night

Stayed with family for a few nights. Room was large and well appointed, spotlessly clean and well maintained. Covid observation was excellent throughout.

The highlights are the staff (especially Bob and Chara), and the quality of the dining experience. Breakfast was comprehensive, high quality and dealt with professionally given covid adherence. Dinner was equally excellent and the range of options superb.

Whilst this is an older hotel we were very pleased with our stay. The streets around are quite busy so there is some traffic noise at times, as with most hotels in the area. There is no air conditioning...only fans provided, which is reflective perhaps of the age of the hotel.

Thanks to the management and staff.

Initially the first allocated room was much too small with insufficient storage space or even room space may have been OK as a single. We were moved to a larger room which was fine until it got hot the the room temperature soared with a window that only opened 75mm and a fan with a cable much to short to be of much help. We had difficulty sleeping at night and the room was much too hot during the day. The Hotel itself having air-con in the public rooms was fine. All of the staff were most pleasant and helpful although we did find the variant ways of wearing face coverings somewhat puzzling many not covering noses at all. The Hotel is located a ten minute walk from Liberation Place in what I imagine was the old part of town were most of the Old Stylish houses are now flats or bedsits. We would stay here again but only if the accommodation had had air-con and/or working windows.

Room tip: Check the rooms facilities before you unpack

Thank you for your review and comments. We are a popular and busy town centre hotel and please be assured that our team are committed to providing a safe and enjoyable stay for our valued guests.

Public areas are air fully conditioned. Jersey is a maritime Island and temperatures do drop at night more than on the mainland. Each bedroom has at least one opening window allowing outside air and these are restricted for guest safety.

Thank you once again and we hope that you will return to the Royal at some future date. You would be most welcome.

Great Central location only 10 minutes walk from harbour, shops and bus station.
Breakfast and Evening meals could not be faulted.
Excellent staff, especially Cynthia, Orianna and Bob!
Rooms were very clean.
Bathroom however, in need of updating.
As the weather was very hot (over 30 degrees) the rooms could have benefited with having air conditioning. However, a fan was supplied.
Would highly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a week on Jersey staying at the Royal Hotel. On arrival to Jersey had to have a free Covid test which was administered with profession, so quick, easy and painless. Then quarantine in our room at the Royal until the result is received by text message. Hotel very understanding and supportive with a free goodie bag of water, crisps, chocolate bar and fruit. Room service menu was excellent and good choice for vegetarians, which I am! Food delivery to our room was great, tasty and delicious. Woke up to negative test result so free spirits then on.
Breakfast menu was wonderful so hot or cold choice delivered to the table although cooked was served at the counter. Continental, porridge, pastries, toast and plenty to choose from. Enough to keep you going once out exploring Jersey.
All the staff are professional and attentive making a stay at the Royal very special indeed. Had room 320 on the top floor which was spotless and towels changed daily. With the windows open and a fan provided, it kept the room cool for sleeping. The stairwell was hot and stuffy but you are only passing through
A great place for a break to Jersey as very central to all St Helier has to offer.
Free wi fi which worked very well in the room.

Room tip: Top floor very quiet so no issues with sleeping.

It is much appreciated by our team that you report a wonderful stay. We are indeed central to the town of St. Helier, only a short walk to the eastern end of the pedestrian areas, and the Millennium Town Park. Thank you for your comments and for staying with us at the Royal.
