We stayed at the Ommaroo in October and had a wonderful time from start to finish.

This was our first visit to the hotel and we were very pleasantly surprised by both the surroundings and staff.

The location of the hotel was extremely pleasant - on the sea front and only a five minute walk from the town centre.

Inside, the rooms were very welcoming and felt modern and spacious - I understand from one of the staff members that they had just been refurbished .

The combination of a very high standard of accommodation, friendly and efficient staff and extremely good food in both the morning and the evening meant that we would thoroughly recommend the Ommaroo to other visitors.

Great value for money and great fun, go there!!

Tired we got to the hotel where we were experienced a very warm welcome. Not only did we enjoy the fine food, but slept ever so well in one of the fantastic new rooms in the east wing. Our rooms were overlooking the car park (not everyone can have a sea view), but we din't mind, as the rooms are decorated in a friendly, modern style that reminded me of hotels in Sweden and Finland.
A great place to relax after a busy day and unwind with a stroll on the beach only across the road - and be in the middle of St Helier within a 10 min walk.

We spent 3 nights through a deal with Condor ferries and had a lovely time. When we arrived we were happy with our rooms and our welcome. We had a problem though on our first night but the staff were superb. We were actually moved to another part of the hotel, along with our inlaws, to a refurbished section. The rooms here were excellent, we were so impressed by the helpfulness of the staff and the refurbishment which is happening is to a high standard.
The position of the hotel is brilliant too, across the road from the beach and after asking for walking directions to the town we discovered that it was just over 5 mins to the centre of St Heilier. When we drove from the ferry we thought the town was ages away even though we'd already read it was 10-15 mins away in reviews!
We also ate at the hotel one evening and had a very nice meal.

Room Tip: Book a refurbished room.

Just spent a week at the Ommaroo, it is a very pleasant hotel, the staff are friendly and helpfull. The Hotel is currently being refurbished and to be honest some of the rooms need it as they are showing signs of age. The hotel is well placed for the town and is opposite from the beach - so if you want a car free holiday it could not be in a better postion. There are several nice places to eat locally or if you want more excitement then the 10 minute walk into town opens up more options. Having read some of the negative comments I think they are unfair, this is a clean, good value hotel which when the work is completed will be very nice. Worth a stay for a short relaxing break.

We spent five days at the hotel and having read some of the reviews beforehand were slightly concerned about what it would be like. However we were well satisfied and felt it was good value for money - we were in one of the front seaview rooms with balcony on the second floor. which I had particularly requested because this was a special occasion visit to Jersey. It was one of the rooms which had not yet been refurbished and was certainly dated and needed upgrading but it was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was bright, clean and functional but certainly in need of attention. The hotel is on a very busy road and the noise was intrusive particularly when sitting on the balcony, however it wasnt a major issue and the views were lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful and responded immediately to any requests for help. Renovation work in the hotel caused problems with the fire alarm but we were always contacted and reassured that everything was OK. We only had bed and breakfast and usually had the full English which was well cooked and plentiful. This is a very traditional hotel which reminded me of seaside hotels in the 60's and 70's. Its location is great and we were able to walk into the town or harbour area easily. I would recommend it to others but perhaps not families - it is more suited to older couples. However that view may be coloured by the fact that we were having an out of season break and the hotel was very quiet with only older couples staying during the period we were there. A lovely warm conservatory area at the front of the hotel provided a very pleasant sitting area.
