“Not quite as photos!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

Our room was on the main road (which doesn't show in the photos) so it could be quite noisy early in the morning. This hotel is being refurbished so we had a nicely decorated room but no hooks anywhere, not even for a gown in the bathroom. (I realise this is a minor moan!) In the restaurant we had one bad meal and one good one, so I guess it depends who is in the kitchen. The waitress was much better than any of the waiters, I got the impression they weren't a friendly lot. They only had a limited bar so I would suggest eating out as there are many better places within walking distance. I would say they have cheated a bit with the photos as there isn't a sea view from the dining room. Breakfast was good and the coffee much better than we'd expected! The gardens were nicely kept and the hotel was very clean. We've certainly stayed in worse hotels. (PS note to management - staff chewing gum whilst serving at reception doesn't give a professional impression)

Room Tip: The bathroom window was very high up in our room, so you might have to stand on a chair to shut it t...

We stayed here for 3 nights and the hotel is conveniently located overlooking the beach which is a fantastic location. There were restaurants and bars close by and whilst we didn't eat here, the hotel offers a reasonable menu and there is a bar downstairs with outdoor seating and a small pool which is perfect in summer.

The hotel room was spotlessly clean as was the hotel and the breakfasts were terrific with lots to choose from and they weren't tight on what was available with nice big plates and attentive waiting staff. The reception area is looking a bit tired and dated compared with the rest of the hotel which looks lovely and modern.

A key feature is the proximity to the beach which was just across the road with a lido-area which is an outdoor pool in the sea. There is also parking here if you are hiring out a car. This hotel was very good value for money and I would recommend this hotel to those looking to stay in St Helier.

Stayed here for 5 days with mum and daughter. Staff were helpful and friendly. The decor is pleasant and right on trend in main areas with beach house style in bedrooms. Bed and breakfast great deal. Lovely views from lounge room. Felt very at home and unpretentious yet professional. Perfect location for town centre, beach, Europe's last tidal lido, walking, cycling and the very cheap reliable Jersey Liberty bus stops just outside . Even when it was windy the hotel gardens were a safe haven.

We stayed here for 3 nights with 3 young children in a family room(53) absolutely brilliant fresh clean tidy and spacious. Beach just across the road with a lido which is classed as the out door pool. Walkable distance into town even with young children. Ample parking on site. Breakfast all you can eat certainly plenty of it to suit all pallets even fussy children. Would defiantly stay again.

I have never actually stayed in the hotel but I have eaten in the restaurant which well deserves a mention on T A. Friends recommended we try it, we were not disappointed.
The food was fantastic, beautifully presented and the service was first class. There is something for everyone on the menu, we had the fish. My husband commented it was the best he had had for years, I had to agree. Cheesecake was gorgeous and the cheese board had a lovely selection of cheeses and crackers, it had with it a delicious chutney and grapes. All at a very reasonable price, excellent value for money considering the quality of food and the level of service. Could not fault it.
It's a big bright dining room, the décor modern and tasteful and spotlessly clean. To be honest I didn't like the way the tables were arranged, too regimented and lacked imagination. This is not a criticism, but, hopefully constructive comment. I would suggest they change the configuration of tables to get away from the 'dining room' feeling to create a softer and more intimate atmosphere.
It is well run in a very calm, low key manner by Spencer which creates a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy your meal. I notice his eyes were everywhere, on guests and staff, making sure all was running smoothly. He spoke to the guests, briefly and discreetly not at all intrusively like some do. Manuel was our waiter, very professional at his job. In fact all the staff looked smart, they also looked happy and that also helps the atmosphere.
Well done, keep up the good work. We will definitely be back soon and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.

Booked this hotel for a work reunion at end of March. The room was very pleasant and comfortable with double plus single and bathroom facilities a good standard. I believe these had been upgraded recently. Staff were very helpful and breakfast buffet good. Our arranged meal as part of the reunion was excellent. Hotel is approx 10 min walk to St Helier if fit! Only niggle was a dull thump underneath our room in the mornings which must have been caused by door closing. Room No was 26.

Stayed here for two nights with a fairly large group for a reunion. Hotel is situated in Havre Des Pas, a 10 to 15 min walk from town centre and next to the sea. Building is old and a typical rabbit-warren type hotel with rooms and corridors in all directions. Had a single room which was freshly decorated, overlooking the road at the front and with a sea view. The road is quiet.Comfy bed and good linen, tea & coffee, decent Flat screen TV and nice shower room with a powerful shower. Breakfast was good, typical hotel buffet including Full English although stopping at 9.30am which is earlier than most hotels in my experience, especially at weekends. Wifi only available in reception and not in rooms.
We had or our reunion dinner in the hotel and it was excellent. Very well presented and tasty food. Staff are unfailingly polite and helpful - they looked after us very well and would have no hesitation in returning. Very good value.
