We stayed at the Ommaroo hotel for 7 nights at the beginning of September. We didn't get off to the best start as initially we were put into a room with an adjoining door so the first night we didn't get any sleep as could literally hear the couple next door talking/snoring/breathing. Mentioned this to a lady at reception the next morning, however we found she was very unhelpful. Luckily when we came back on the evening, Harry on reception was able to find us an alternative, much quieter room. This made a huge difference to be able to get a good night's sleep meaning we were able to feel refreshed to explore the island so we were very appreciative of his efforts.

We used the hotel as a base and spent very little time in it other than to sleep and eat our breakfast, therefore we didn't use some of the facilities such as the coffee lounge, bar and swimming pool. As a couple in our early 30s I would say that this hotel doesn't really cater for younger couples and families. it is reminiscent of an old fashioned seaside hotel and seems to serve older people very well. However I would say that the hotel is looking a little tired and shabby in places.

I wouldn't therefore come back to stay at the Ommaroo hotel but that's more of a personal preference. The staff in general were very friendly, especially Tracy who was always around with a smile at breakfast time.

Room tip: Request no adjoining rooms as very noisy

This hotel should be renamed Hotel Du Lac i.e. lacking in facilities, style, ambience, cleanliness, service or value for money.
For those of a certain age, (90% of guests) think Butlins late 60's on a bad day without the entertainment. This hotel is desperately in need of refurbishment. It is a drab, dirty place. We stayed for 4 nights in Sep 21 and because we booked late had to pay the price of doing so, BUT at £274 per night B&B for a sea facing room we sort of expected something half decent.
Our room had the windows screwed shut, no ventilation in the bathroom so it was like a turkish bath, filthy carpets, a sea view balcony that was actually a segment of the bitumen flat roof with £1 chairs made the same year plastic was invented.
The pool area was appalling, the bar is that part of the building used for functions but drab, and unappealing and shut all day until 6 pm.
Like the rest of the island they suffered from lack of staff due to Covid so if a staff member was serving dinner, expect no service at all in the bar.
All in all it was utterly dreadful with one exception - the dining room staff at breakfast were pleasant and helpful, albeit Butlins dining there too.
If I had paid half the price I would not be writing this review.
Parts of the island are lovely, and not to be put off we have booked for next year, but in a modern place we visited to check it over.
Finally, don't let the seductive video on the website seduce you as it did me. Avoid this place like the plague!!!!

Room tip: Sea view rooms overlook the power station

Staff were so helpful and went out of there way to accommodate us.
Due to Late booking on our part room choice was limited so we had a small double at the rear. Everything was very clean and tidy (#89 - the shower is small if you are bigger than average) and the bed was ok for a few nights.

Location for us was excellent - Hotel across the road from beach and the Lido and a short walk into St. Helier.
Bus stop to take you further afield was close by.
Breakfast was plentiful and Tracy and the breakfast staff team were so friendly and helpful.
A Great 3* hotel.
There is no lift and the stairs could be a problem if you have mobility challenges.
Would definitely return.

Room tip: Book early for best choice of rooms.

Good quality family hotel located about a 15 minute walk from town centre. Across the street from the seafront. Room sizes and layouts vary, so if you have particular needs contact the hotel directly to book. Clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff; excellent buffet breakfast.

We stayed here with Jet2 in August 2021. We were allocated a room towards the back which was over the kitchen and dining room. The room was clean and tidy and was fairly spacious. The room was rather warm and the window openings had limiters but with the blind closed it wasn’t too bad. We stayed on a B and B basis and the buffet breakfast was very good. We had one meal in the hotel which was very nice. There is a small pool which we didn’t use but there was sufficient area to sunbathe as well. The hotel is on the coast road but is still quiet. There is a promenade opposite with a coastal path around to the main seaside area and an easy walk into town either through a road tunnel or around and over the hill. The staff were all helpful and very pleasant. Our room did not have a room safe, I don’t know if others do. There is parking although it did fill up quite early. There is also a bike park. All in all a nice place to stay, convenient for the beach, town and travelling around the island.

Room tip: If you book direct they offer a free meal
