“Loved this hotel”
Reviewed 13 May 2012 via mobile

We were a party of 18 who went for a long weekend to Jersey. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and everyone loved it. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It's quirky stairs and room names just add to the charm. Miguel who looked after us at the bar till the wee hours made some fantastic cocktails and invented one for us which we named the "ooooh" as that's what everyone said once they tasted it. We ate lunch there before the flight home and I would recommend eating there as it was delicious. We are now thinking of going back to Jersey and we would definitely stay at this hotel again, thank you The Inn Boutique for a fabulous stay in Jersey.

We stayed at the Inn boutique in a standard room over Easter. Despite the cold and rain we had a good weekend. The staff were freindly and helpful. The breakfast is good and we didn't eat in the hotel in the evening.

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks stay in Jersey.
While the weather was not what we hoped for, the warmth of the welcome we received from the staff at The Inn more than made up for it.
The staff have managed to strike the perfect balance between being friendly and being professional and nothing was too much bother for them.
The room was very good and spotless. Because the hotel is situated on a main road there is some traffic noise but the double glazing helps enormously.
We ate in both the restaurant and the bar on several occasions and the quality of the food was terrific in both and excellent value for money. If you are feeling particularly flush order the fish platter for two in the restaurant - its fabulous - and be guided by Miguel as to the wine to accompany it. His choice was spot on.

I would recommend The Inn to anyone except perhaps those with mobility problems as its situated a good 10/15 minute walk up a hill from the centre of town.

Stayed here for 2 nights offer the bank holiday weekend in may 2012. The check in was smooth, they had cleaned the room early and was available at 10am which was a pleasant surprise. The staff. At reception were very helpful and cordial. The rooms are smallish but have all the amenities one would need. The window didn't look out onto anything in particular but that was ok with us. The breakfast was impressive and the restaurant was busy even for dinner. The hotel is on the ring road around st helier (A9) and therefore quite convenient to drive in/out. However it does take around 15-20 min walk to get in to the town centre. Overall the hotel offers a decent value for money.

Having traveled to many locations and stayed in various standards of accommodation from B&Bs to 5star hotels, the most important ratings for me are value for money and service quality and I base any reviews I do with this in mind. In my view the Inn in Jersey excels in both of these respects.

I am not going to mention all the good points because that will take too long, except look out for Tom in the restaurant a great character!!

I will try and list a few aspects that maybe important to you, but are in no ways critisisms.

- 15 min walk into center of St Helier
- No sea views
- Compact Hotel and rooms
- Lively atmosphere at the weekend

Another measure I use to judge a hotel is their attitude and responsiveness to any requests or issues. Again this was excellent. Don't be afraid to ask!!

Although the weather was horrendous for our stay in Jersey, I really got the feeling that if the staff at the Inn could have done anything about it, they would have.

I would just like to say a big thanks to the team at the Inn from my wife and myself.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Inn. We didn't arrive until late and our luggage hadn't arrived with us! The check in was friendly and straightforward. As we didn't have our luggage we decided to eat in the hotel restaurant which was very busy but they found us a table. The bar was also busy with a great atmosphere - sadly the live music on a Friday finishes at 9 so we missed it. The food was delicious and portion sizes very generous!
Our room was very comfortable, although if we'd had much more luggage (when it finally arrived) there wouldn't have been much space. The bathroom was very clean and roomy with a lovely hot powerful shower.
We had a fabulous weekend and would return.

We stayed for a 2-nights stay at the Inn. We booked a superior twin/double room, which size was adequate. The bathroom was also of a good size. Our room name was Bergerac, on th 2nd floor. Unfortunately, no view at all form the window, but the roof of the hotel, making the room a little dark. Free tea/coffe and still and sparkling water. Noise from the street and from the beer garden. Nevertheless, we closed the windows and the noise was merely audible.
The hotel has a very strange shape, and you have to circumnavigate around stairs and corridors. The hotel looks very modern on the wesites photos, but that's absolutely not the feeling you get when you're in front of the hotel, and when you're then inside the hotel.
On the very plus side, the staff is doing really great. They are very attentive. From check-in to check-out!
Free parking across the street. Free wifi around the hotel.

We had dinner on the first night, but not on the second, because we were a little bit disappointed by the quality of the food, though affordable. On the second night, we decided to put some more money in the restaurant to get a better quality food. Result: we ended un an excellent restaurant without being charged more than at th Inn. (At the Inn, avoid the french fries at all costs, they are just inedible, take their homemade hand cut fries, which are delicious, but with an aditional 1.50 pound).

The big down side, on my opinion, is the breakfast. It was included in our room rate, and clearly advised as "continental breakfast". Then, you're advised there are other options for breakfast.
Well. If you want eggs, that's 5 pounds extra. In my imagination, I had fancied that being so closed to english culture, I would get some eggs and bacon for breakfast. Look like The Inn is a lot closer to the european continent than to the British Islands!

Come on management, what's the aditional cost of serving eggs to your breakfast?

Then, we had toasts included in our continental breakfast. Great. Toasts are 6 halves for 2 people. (That's 3 toasts all together). Delivered to your table, so be it. Cold taosts after 2 minutes on the table, that's physics reaction, for sure, the toast not only get cold at The Inn - Jersey, but everywhere around the globe. Just seems that here, they're not aware of that.

Come on management, put the toaster you have in your kitchen and the toasts on the buffet table. What are you afraid of, too many toasts eaten by the guests?

For the rest, cereals, weetabix, fresh whole fruits, fresh grapfruit, juices, marmelade, some danish pastries, and this is it. All in all, it's more than enough, but my frail human raction to be charged extra for a mouthwatering english breakfast is only frustration.

For my next visit, I'll try another hotel, hoping that I just would feel mor comfortable around and less frustrated.

Price for the room was 96 pounds a night, on hotels.com, including "continental" breakfast.

Lynnedunham, General Manager at The Inn Boutique, responded to this review, 17 April 2012
I am so sorry that your stay with us did not come up to your expectations, but of course delighted that you appreciated the attentiveness of our staff.

THE INN is an old building, but in the last 3 years has had major investment and it is unfortunate that your perception of modern differs to ours and 100’s of other guests who regularly tell us that they like the look and feel of what we have been able and proud to achieve.

Even this month an article on Jersey in The Sunday Times Travel Magazine describes THE INN as “A 3 star hotel with 5 Star ambitions, this funky little number combines boutique chic with super cool cred” !!

It is possible to book English Breakfast in your rate, however you booked and had confirmed a rate which included Continental Breakfast. Your review gives the impression that we charge £5 for eggs with breakfast - that is not the case. The £5 you paid was a supplement for the Full English, which includes, Bacon, Sausages, INN fries, Mushrooms, Tomato and Baked Beans, which is served at your table along with the toast to allow you to relax and enjoy your breakfast rather than queue. We do not restrict the amount of toast, you can always have more and if it gets cold then of course we will replace it.

It is regrettable that you did not enjoy your dinner, perhaps you could email me lynne@theinnjersey.com and let me know in more detail why you were disappointed as it is very rare to receive bad comments about our food including the fries.

We are 100% focused on our guests needs and I am so sorry you didn’t let me know during your stay of anything you were unhappy with.
