“Banjo Jersey”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

Myself & my partner have just stayed at Banjo for my 40th birthday.....we were given a free upgrade to a Leslie room which was so lovely of them, Although we enjoyed our one night stay we found the room didn't have the wow factor that we were expecting for £145 per night. Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely room but expected a bit more luxury, first of all the carpet was very hard almost like walking on a cheese grater, unfortunately they do not provide slippers and we found it quite painful on the feet to walk on bare foot. The bathroom was spotless but the mechanism of the plug in the sink was broke so had to take the whole thing out, the shower was nice but didn't seem to be a power shower which I would also expect from a room at this price, the bath was very deep but not long enough for a good stretch out & the free mini bar did not stock any snacks at all even though this was stated on the room description. Come the early hours of the next morning we were woken by a bin truck collecting rubbish and the noise was rather annoying at 6am. That's the negatives over......the breakfast however was superb, couldn't fault it, very refreshing having a fruit compot with warm croissants, brioche, ham & cheese & freshly squeezed orange juice & coffee. We had a nice stay but for the price of the room I'm afraid was not worth it.

We recently stayed at Banjo for a birthday celebration, we booked into the Earnest Room which is simply the best in the house. Taking the lift to the second floor we entered the huge rooms which are elegantly furnished in restful colours and have large windows in each. The bathroom is luxurious with lovely fittings which echo's this feeling of elegance. The bed can only be described as cloud like and will give the occupants a restful nights sleep. There are flat screen T.V. 's in each area giving the option to relax in the lounge which adds to the informal atmosphere. We were shown how the air conditioning and Nespresso coffee machine worked and made to feel at home straight away. There is a complimentary mini bar in the room which caters for all tastes in refreshment. Banjo has 2 restaurants offering quality dining in each, we chose to eat in the Brasserie which offers fish dishes that are of top quality. The staff are quietly efficient and attentive which fits in with the beautifully fitted out restaurants. Banjo is situated in the heart of St Helier and is a hidden treasure, everything is within walking distance and the helpful staff can advise on what not to miss out on. Breakfast is served in the comfortable bar lounge to rear of the building and should not be missed, it is a lovely room for a casual drink or a coffee at anytime of the day. We would not hesitate in recommending Banjo to anyone wanting dine out or to stay in St Helier.

Room Tip: The Earnest room offers a very comfortable relaxing stay, although it is at the front of the buildin...

Very stylish boutique hotel. Newly decorated and finished to a really high standard. The room was very modern and fabulous! We ate in the restaurant and the food was gorgeous. The breakfast was the best!! Lots of it and beautifully presented. The bar is probably one of the trendiest bars I have ever been in - not what I expected to find in Jersey at all! The ONLY bad comment I'd make is that on the Saturday night there was a private party which was planned to go on until 1am and the noise in our bedroom was really loud. However, we were lucky because the party actually finished well before that. I'd highly recommend this hotel to couples wanting a stylish luxury break.

My wife and I stayed at the Banjo this weekend and loved every minute of it. The room was excellent the breakfasts were really delicious. We went away to pamper ourselves for the weekend and we achieved our goal! The restaurant is also lovely and would be a great place to eat out as well. Thanks to all the staff for a great stay!
