Apollo Hotel.

On arriving by car at the front entrance is on main road, so you have to unload at the rear, there is a steep slope, which is fine if you’re able bodied but quiet impossible you have to walk aided or you are disabled, Parking is limited, for larger cars.
The swimming outside pool is unheated, but they have a heated pool inside which is very clean and good.
On arriving at reception we were given 306 room which was situated at the front of the building, this room was so noisy we asked for another room. This was done by the manager.
The room was 220 which was over the car park with no view except of a large brick wall. The room was clean, and the bed very comfortable the bathroom was clean but could do with a coat of paint.
The food was good, with a buffet style where you get the food yourself with each course, as much food as you want, the staff were excellent, couldn’t do more for you nothing was to much trouble.
The overall holiday was very good and the service was excellent.
Would visit this hotel again but would ask for a room with balcony.

Room Tip: never tip untill the day departure

This was our first trip to Jersey, therefore we did not know the area where the hotel is situated; first impressions were not good, but this is a lovely hotel 5 minutes from the main shopping area in St Helier. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and tidy, it was also quiet. Our room was big and situated at the front of the hotel on the St Saviour's road which was noisy, even though it was hot in the room we could not have the windows open at night because of the traffic noise, there was a fan which we used every night, the bed was comfortable, with sheets and blankets. There was no electric socket by the bed; I have to use a piece of medical equipment at night, which meant that I had to use an extension lead that trailed across the room to the nearest socket. My husband is partially disabled, and I have arthritic knees, we managed OK but I feel that this hotel is not for the disabled, there is a steep slope from the carpark to the hotel, the lift is tiny it was a tight squeze for two of us and there was three steps down into our bedroom. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool which was great, the garden is well kept with lots of flowers. The meals are buffet style, there is another menu from which dishes can be requested. There was limited choice for non meet eaters, the alternatives were one pasta or fish dish per night. Having said that we had a great holiday and would go back.

Room Tip: ask for room without steps, some rooms had balcany

Stayed in The Apollo with three friends in July and found it basic but did the job. The room was a decent size but far from luxury (tiny beds!), the bathroom was a bit on the small size and overall the hotel could do with a revamp. The outdoor pool area is fairly squashed into one corner but it rained for 3 of the 5 days we were there so it didn't matter! There is also an indoor pool and hot tub which was a great on the rainy days!

The majority of staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the porter. We didn't have dinner there but breakfast was nice with a good choice and it didn't finish bang on time.

I'd recommend The Bar (lovely bar on the waterfront), Wild Fire for cocktails and The Mandarian Chinese if you're visiting St Helier!

With a great location and excellent service, this hotel has it's up sides. Its close to the town centre which is handy for eating out and the pool area is a big bonus but it's closer to a British seaside guesthouse than a 3 star hotel and I question the star rating when looking at the quality of furnishing of the rooms - seriously dated furniture and fittings, hard beds, ancient duvets, holey sheets and rock hard or thin pillows. The bathroom fittings originally very basic were dated and damaged and the toilet paper very cheap. The restaurant was very good although extremely hot, apparently from hot air pumping out of the buffet unit, but the best bacon at breakfast and the beef and Guinness pie hadn't got any guinness in it but was quality and tasty. The attached Italian restaurant served great food but was housed in the same room as the indoor pool so the tasty pizza was served with the scent of warm chlorine, such a shame. There is a lovely bar close to the outdoor seating area but it doesn't open until 6pm so before that you have to go to the attached pub which is accessed through the indoor pool and Italian restaurant. Not suggesting the bar should be open all day but before 6pm would be better. Overall, a great location and very friendly but the fixtures and fittings are cheap and outdated. Finally we had a standard twin room (224) which was at the front of the hotel and extremely noisy. As it was a hot week, we had to have the windows open but were still woken by the traffic noise and contractors gathering for their lift in the early hours. I would recommend paying that bit extra for an inside facing room for the peace. If you're an international traveller you're probably used to better but this isn't a bad place for a few nights break.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my mum, who needed a rest after illness. I was concerned about some reviews here saying the front was noisy, and so requested a quiet room at the back. We had a beautiful spacious twin room overlooking the outdoor pool. It was very quiet and peaceful.

For the posters who feel the hotel is dated or quaint, I can understand this point of view, however I feel it is more a case of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. There is nothing wrong with any of the fixtures of the hotel. I like the nice touches of pictures of the island around the hotel, there was a lovely cool library/sitting area and the dining room was very pleasant... some may feel the furniture looks old, but it is extremely comfortable and I found the decor of our bedroom very simple and practical. The beds themselves were great, bathroom/shower facilities adequate if not luxurious, and the indoor heated pool had plenty of fluffy clean towels.

We did not have our evening meals at the hotel, but we did have breakfast each morning, and we found it to be very good quality. There was something for everyone, cereal, fruit, yogurt, full fry up, toast and overseen by a lovely manager who always tried to make sure different guests were given window tables each morning, so they could overlook the gardens and pool.

The staff were all wonderful, particularly the lady who checked us in and provided us with maps and great recommendations for activities. I felt that all the staff went the extra mile and really looked after the guests. I would definitely return.

Room Tip: Request a quiet room away from the road.

was rather dubious after reading the reviews online but all I can say is people must be really picky if they could find any faults with this hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel for 6 nights on a business trip to Jersey. My room was clean and comfortable with ensuite facilities. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice, and the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the lack of air conditioning.
