Shower faced the wrong way to use. Room was hot even with Windows's open. Bed hard and 'buttons' feeling in my back. Would not stay again.
Went to bar to talk business and man tried to look at laptop to see what we discussed.
Breakfast good supply however felt too much staff at 7.30 so felt being watched.

Stayed: June 2014, travelled on business

We stayed at the Apollo over the last bank holiday weekend in a party of 6. The hotel is well situated with easy access to the main town area where there are plenty of bars and shops, the beach/sea front and a well run bus station. Only used the restaurant for breakfast but the buffet style choices were excellent and the evening meal prices seemed reasonable - I would certainly recommend the breakfast. There is a cocktail bar but it's expensive and only opens in the evening - we tended to use the bar next to the hotel. The hotel has a small outdoor pool, an indoor one and a spa. The hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant and the hotel was clean. The rooms were adequate with plenty of room. My only criticism would be the shower - difficult to get the temperature right! We found the bus service to be very good, using it to see a fair part of the island - £3.60 being the standard fare and £1.30 for shorter trips. With the narrow windy roads a bus trip can be quite an experience! We discovered, too late in the day for us, that you can get £7 daily tickets. There is plenty to do and see and lots of very picturesque bays. We had an excellent time and thoroughly enjoyed are stay - I would certainly return.

hotel clean and staff very friendly. a bit shabby in places and could do with a refurb!!! would benefit from air conditioning in the bedrooms!!! breakfast excellent with a lot of choice. the hotel is in a great location. not far from town centre and bus station. getting around jersey by bus is the best way to see the island and very cheap. a little pub in the town called the dog and sausage is well worth a visit!

Room Tip: try and get a room facing pool area for a quieter nights sleep as the pub next door can get noisy...

Nice hotel. Pleasant reception from friendly staff. Public areas, Lounge Pool and Bar areas very pleasant. Rooms were clean and tidy, but the bathrooms were very dated ( never the less clean). We had problems with the shower, which once set to a comfortable temperature suddenly changed mid shower from cold to extremely hot. Restaurant was reasonably good, buffet style breakfast with a good choice. Had one evening meal which again was reasonable quality and reasonably priced. When asking for a glass of wine no wine list was offered, I got my glass of dry white but the bottle was not shown just poured into a glass.

Room Tip: The hotel is upgrading its rooms. Some superior rooms are available

All though very dated inside and out the staff are friendly and attentive, rooms are basis and clean with everything you would expect from a 60/eighths hotel, we had a room with the balcony over looking the pool. However friends staying with us had the standard rooms that were very disappointing and noisy due to street bar noise.

Breakfast was very good with a large section of food, the quality was also to a good standard decor utilitarian.
We dinned in on the last night but this was disappointing the fish was very bony and over cooked they also missed out a complete course form the set menu. If you unlucky enough to have booked this hotel already eat out every night as there are so many fantastic place to eat.

This hotel may not be the smartest & most modern but if you are looking for a friendly comfortable hotel in the centre of St Helier you will go a long way to beat this one. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The cocktail bar had the feel of a colonial bar. Prices were very reasonable, the indoor pool was very clean, we did not use the outdoor pool but this looked of similar quality. Located 10 minutes walk from the harbour & the bars and restaurants on a level walk means this hotel is very well placed. If we visit St Helier again we will certainly head back to The Apollo.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a pool view, these are the quietist.

Stopped here with my wife for three nights and I though for the money we paid it was great. Room was a bit dated but very clean and spacious and serviced daily. Breakfast was full english and was brilliant, better even than any of the many Holiday Inns Ive stayed in over the past few years. We'll definitely be going back.
