Only stayed in the new part of the hotel and rooms are very good - shame no towel rail! Staff generally very helpful and attentive. Restaurant menu reasonable, but not a big enough choice and wines by the glass limited in quality - can be very quiet at night, so believe they are missing out here. Wish they would learn how to make bacon crisp, but not tough at breakfast. Good Spa

In line with many reviews this is a good hotel to base yourself to explore Jersey. It is ideally situated close to the Town Centre and transport links with many good quality restaurants to be found within walking distance. We arrived on a rather stormy night to be met by the concierge holding an umbrella and a warm welcome from the reception staff. In fact all the staff we encountered were pleasant and professional. We had booked a Platinum Room which was at the front of the hotel overlooking the Quay and Liberty Square. A small balcony was an added bonus and provided weather permitting a place to relax and take in the scenery. The room was large and very well appointed and modern in design. It was clean with a large comfortable double bed and a host of complimentary drinks which were replaced on a daily basis. The bathroom was also large and modern with a bath and separate shower cubicle. The towels were of a high quality but the lack of a heated towel rail in the bathroom meant that we had them replaced daily instead of hanging them to dry. The bathroom floor did tend to get covered in water escaping from underneath the shower cubicle door when it was in use. The room was cleaned to a high standard daily by the housekeeping staff who also offered a turndown service if requested. The breakfast was the usual buffet with a selection of hot or cold options available. The quality was good but we found the hot selection to be not as hot as we would have preferred.
The hotel has a variety of restaurants which offer different dining experiences. All have good service and the food was of good quality and were good value for money.
The hotel does have a 'residents only' lounge set aside for guests use however on our last day we found that it had been booked for a private function so obviously not as described.

There was some noise from people leaving the nightclub as experienced by other reviewers but not excessive when we stayed. The Royal Yacht is a good hotel and we would certainly consider it again however it is a typical large hotel that markets itself as a nightclub venue, spa, business and conference centre, function and visitor destination.

This was my first stay in the Royal Yacht. I would certainly come back again.
I booked two rooms as I had my elderly aunt accompanying me. My Aunt had the room with a view. It was great for her as she could see the bustling world from her balcony. It also got the afternoon sun which was welcome in the cool weather.
The Reception staff were generally both friendly and helpful. The restaurant wait staff were very good. I enjoyed watching the chefs make the entrees right in front of where we sat. There were plenty of eating options and I enjoyed them all with the upstairs main restaurant being my fave. Breakfast was pretty good with some cooked options although the breakfast chefs were a tad taciturn.
The rooms were modern, very clean and equipped with all amenities. I found them roomy and very comfortable. The balconies were also a good size.
I discovered the day spa which was a heavenly escape. They have deals on some days if you are lucky enough to book in on time.
Most of all this hotel was simply brilliant as a place to explore the island from. My aunt and I used the buses extensively and we were impressed! The wonderful local cabbies were also just outside the hotel.
I was very pleased with this hotel stay.

Room Tip: If you prefer a quieter room, choose one facing the museum. There are bars around the front and you...

This is a nice, modern, clean hotel that is perfect for business travelers. Very well located and comfortable, with good views. I didn't spend much time there because it was a short business trip, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Fabulous! Warm greeting. Quite a big hotel but felt small and cosy. Staff couldn't do enough. Gold rooms large and comfy with an outside terrace that joins with other rooms. Perfect for a girlie trip with 5 of us in consecutive rooms sharing the outside terrace.
Cosy bars, wonderful restaurants and a nightclub for some moves on the dance floor! Unexpected but funny!
Breakfast freshly cooked.
Spa was one of the best I have experienced.

I can not rate this hotel highly enough. We have stayed at a nearby hotel for many years and after their service slipped we thought we would try the Royal Yacht. I'm so glad we did. We stayed in a platinum room with fantastic views over the harbour and excellent facilities and due to the time of year we even had our own Christmas tree on the balcony.
We had dinner in the Sirocco restaurant and the service and food was first class. All the staff were so helpful, polite and couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be staying here again and treating ourselves to one of their penthouse suites. Thank you for a wonderful long weekend, I didn't want to come home!

Room Tip: Room 402 lovely spacious balcony

We were very disappointed by our recent stay at the Royal Yacht. Maybe it was because we were staying on a special winter deal that we felt we'd been put into one of the worst rooms in the hotel but it was, at best, very average. Our "Gold" room was in the old part of the hotel, overlooking a very busy corner for both traffic and pedestrians. Managed a few hours sleep at best. Please learn from our experience and specifically request a room on a higher floor, in the newer part of the hotel.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you did not like your room. The 'Old Part' of the the hotel is not old at all really as the whole hotel was refurbished/rebuilt in 2007. All of the rooms in the hotel are fitted out to the same standard using the same high quality furniture and furnishings. If you do return to us we will ensure you try a different room.
