“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2009

This was my second visit to the Metropole. I could not fault the hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean, the chambermaid provided an excellent service on a daily basis. The public areas at the hotel are bright and airy. The pools, spa, sauna and gym provide an excellent source of relaxation and envigoration no matter what the weather. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Our waiter in the Dining Room, Pinto, was superb, so efficient. Cant wait to book and return to the hotel next year.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday in the Metropole Hotel. My first time in the Metropole Hotel but will definatly return. Staff wonderfull, nothing is any trouble, always willing to help. Single room very spacious, clean and confortable. Hotel is in an ideal location, close to the beach and easy walking distance to the shopping centre. Cant praise this Hotel highly enough and would recomend it to anyone.

After reading the reviews we decided to book this hotel and we weren't disappointed, excellent service, staff extremely helpful, food first class. The rooms were very clean and kept that way throughout our visit. The facilities were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All age ranges were at the hotel, the evening entertainment was mainly for the very young and the older visitors, but as you are only a short walk from the centre of St Helier, there was plenty of entertainment for everyone.

I spent half term here with my husband & 9yr old son. We had a great time. The hotel was spotless & our room & bathroom were very big with both bath with shower over & a walkin shower.
Staff were helpful.
We were half board. The food was good. Children can eat from the main menu, which my son did & this worked out well.
The gardens were lovely with a pool, chairs & sunbeds.
The indoor pool, jacuzzi & steam room were great & we enjoyed these most nights before dinner.
My son loved the kid's club (this runs just in school holidays).
There are 2 bars & games like scrabble & doms can be borrowed from reception.
The children's club was followed by bingo, which my son adored!!!!! Most of the children played! Then there was usually "an act". They were entertaining in a low key kind of a way!
There was a games room with air hockey & a pool table but we hardly had time for this.
Parking was free & as most people don't seem to visit with a car we always got a space.
We normally self cater on hol. but we got a really good deal here, HB for all of us for the price of B&B for me & my husband. It was fab. Would def. recommend. The other hotel guests were mostly old, however this made for a gentle atmosphere.
I couldn't really fault this hotel & my son has just read this over my shoulder & said I should give 5 for everything!!!

I went to this hotel in July 2008 with my partner and two step children aged 11 and 12. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and service at reception was quick and efficient. The outdoor and indoor pool were great and although it was July we spent most of the time in the indoor pool as the out door pool seemed very cold. The indoor pool was then very busy. The gardens were very well managed and looked lovely. The food at the hotel was very pleasant with a varied choice although the childrens menu lacked any imagination a main like pizza & chicken nuggets with chips. The waiter for our table was very quiet which in turn made him appear not very friendly. Although there could have been a language barrier.
The entertainment at the hotel consisted mainly of bingo and an act ie a singer or comedian. Vicky was very friendly and tried to encourage guest particpation. The games room had been burnt out before our holiday. This was very dissapointing, as with other family holidays this has been an area that the kids have met other children to chat and muck about with. The rooms was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was also very nice with a decent shower. We took a walk down to the sister hotel which had a games room and we were very pleased that we were staying at the Metropole as it seemed to lack a friendly feeling there. The hotel is in a great location and a great base for exploring the island. Its not far from the beach or the shops and has a good sized car park. I have already recommended this hotel to family and friends.
