A brilliant 4 nights stay. Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and everyone was so friendly and polite and always said hello. The room decor was a bit "tired" but so clean. The food in the restaurant was absolutely fantastic and we didn't want to eat anywhere else.
Location was ideal, about 10-15 mins to walk into Town or on a good route for easy driving.

I have stayed there 5 times now and recommend that colleagues stay there too. The service is great. The Reception and Bar staff were friendly. It is fantastic that you have the choice of the Bar Menu and the Restaurant Menu. I ate in the bar both evenings and liked the atmosphere, the food and the staff.
The room was very comfortable and the shower lovely. Not too noisy even though it was on the road side of the hotel.
The breakfast had plenty of choice.
Thumbs up all round.

I am just back from a beautiful break in the Monterey Hotel - this has been my 5th time in Jersey but the first in one of the Morvan Hotels - I can assure you that during future trips to Jersey I will stay in the Monterey - the staff were friendly, attentive, polite and efficient in everything they did. Although I did not have my children with me on this occasion as I was away with friends, the hotel is suitable for couples, groups of friends or families of all ages.

The bar/restaurant area have recently been refurbished and we found the area a beautiful place to eat in at breakfast or for our evening meals and also had a lovely atmosphere to enjoy drinks in the evening. The breakfast was of the highest standard with a fantastic choice of a hot or cold breakfast (or both if you so desired); we ate in the restaurant on one evening and found the meal to be great both from a quality perspective and in respect of the service .

The facilities at the hotel were of the highest standard and when away on short trips I also try and book hotels with leisure facilities - I was not dissapointed with the Monterey - their facilities include an indoor pool, a jacuzzi, an outdoor pool, a gym and a steam room.

The location is ideal for access to the shops where I spent several hours each day doing some "retail therapy" - the shops were varied and well located with staff being very pleasant and helpfull.

In summary this is a friendly and well managed hotel and the attitude and service of all the staff suggests that the owners ensure that the staff are trained to a high quality with cutomer service being higtheir main priority - I can't wait to go back.

This hotel may be a bit updated but the rooms are clean, has adequate facilities and roomy. The staff are excellent and bend over backwards to make you feel welcome, content and relaxed. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is only a short walk from the centre of st helier. 10mins to liberation bus centre to go out and about around the island. The rooms are dated but comfortable. Front of the building suffers from noise from the road. The spa facilities are pleasant enough. The staff were exceptionally attentive and I have only had similar quality of service from 5 star hotels. Great service needs updating. Cooked breakfasts were good.

Very pleased with the effort this Hotel made in dealing with my wife's celiac problem. Without any request, gluten free cereal and bread were provided for breakfast and we were assured that the evening meals would not be a problem.
Our first room faced the street and as light sleepers we did have a disturbed first night. On mentioning this to the reception desk, we were immediatly moved to a superior room away from the road noise.
Friendly and helpful reception and similar comment for the restaurant staff.

We are pleased to advise that the Monterey Jersey has now re-opened (3rd Feb.) after substantial remodelling and refurbishment works to its Gordini's Restaurant and Bar. This investment into new open plan areas has a rich and contempory style with mood lighting and a high standard fit out. Artwork is by the locally renowned photographer Kevin Neil Miller (do visit his website) and his fabulous local digital photographic work is set against rich wallcoverings and fine woodwork.

A new 'all-day dining menu' has been introduced in what are now wonderful much enlarged surroundings with the same attentive service and great food, as ever.

Our fabulous indoor swimming facilities have also been upgraded to make your stay a pleasure.

Diana and her team look forward to welcoming you to the updated Monterey. Thank you.

We stayed here for a week, in a superior room, which gave us a little extra space for when you didn't want to do anything else! We think it's a really nice hotel - set up to do that special kind of holiday that people that use it go for - the retired or disabled are really well catered for and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

We missed having a fridge in the room, which even in cool September would have been useful, and being on the front with no a/c and windows open meant that we got quite a bit of traffic noise.

The breakfasts were just as expected for a full English buffet, but we only ate in the evening on our first night, and found the menu quite restricted - carvery, fish dish, salad and a vegetarian dish as main course choices. There was also the danger of being sucked into meaningless conversations with whoever is sitting beside you, which we wanted to avoid at all costs, although some seem to think this is a good feature.

The indoor and outdoor pools are good facilities, but the bar area is far too small for the number of residents wanting to use it, resulting in groups having to sit in reception.

Access to the town and elsewhere on the island is very easy and cheap once you have a Jersey buspass as there is a stop just outside, although you need to come to terms with the timetable first. You can walk into the town centre within a gentle 15 minutes.

One key piece of advice is to avoid the Wednesday night cabaret at all costs....
